First time I beat the game I used an unupgraded Lightning Spear.

oh man. rpgs are always the hardest when you don't get how they work lol
does the man-serpent greatsword use the same moveset as the gravelord's greatsword? i think they're both curved greatswords.

i wanted to do no-man's wharf next before completing the bastille, but i'm missing a lockstone. guess i'll just have to grind some souls to buy one. :|
Dood Trigger™
Since you already dropped into the pit, did you grab the Pharros Lockstone near the second bonfire pre-Rotten?

Man-Serpent Greatsword's move set:

Seems pretty good, right?

i haven't gone down there yet on my currecnt character. i meant i went down there before going to the lost bastille on my first character, and didn't have many problems with the ruin sentinels back then because i already had lots of estus charges from the other areas.

just finished the no-man's wharf. used the sentinel's soul to get the souls for the lockstone - didn't need that anyways!

that move set looks pretty cool. i wish they hadn't screwed with the zweihanders moveset in ds2 :(

y...you too

seriously. i haven't experienced a single invasion yet outside of the pvp areas. : /

Hahaha. Join the Sunbro covenant and go to Iron Keep, there's like a billion people there. I keep helping them fight the Smelter Demon, it's great stuff. :)

Super salty that I lost 200K souls at Tomb of the Giants... my fault for going down there without any light, hah.

ouch. that definitely sucks a lot. D:

although it didn't go as smooth as i had intended for today, i just got the dragonrider twinblade.
no-man's wharf went rather smooth and i didn't have any problems getting to straid. but i had forgotten about how the guy was petrified, so i went on to belfry luna. apparently my character isn't cut out for that part of the game so i spent like half an hour wiping on those 4 dwarfs at the top, and when i made it to the gargoyles they beat me up just as bad as the ruin sentinels did. so i summoned some guy to help me out, and then discovered that i couldn't even go to belfry luna in multiplayer mode lol
so i ended up killing the lost sinner even earlier than intended, got the fragant branch and obtained my new weapon.

huntsman's copse is next. i'm going to ignore those gargoyles for a while i guess. although now that i beat the sinner w/o that key there's probably no point in beating them anymore anyways.
Dood Trigger™
Yeah, that's partly the reason why I go to the Gutter ASAP. If you know the drops it's pretty straight forward, and the whole Grave of Saints can be skipped, AND you get a branch + other goodies out of it. I guess I got used to doing that because in my No Boss file I had to reset for all the stone drops. Only those hand tentacle things at Black Gulch drop Large Titanite Shards pre-bosses. But last time thankfully I got enough stones to make a Great Club+10.

I'm almost done with NG+. Killed all Kirk invasions for the Armor of Thorns (too heavy for me, but whatever, it's for collection), and got Quelana to appear + bought her stuff. All I need now is to beat the Duke segment plus possibly DLC. I'm so glad I don't have to cut Kalameet's tail on NG+, LOL.
Dood Trigger™
Damn, those DLC bosses... damn. So much fun.

NG+ is done. I think that was the first time I beat all Dark Souls bosses in one day.

As for the MSGS, it's a good weapon. I'm still trying to adjust to the new range, so I keep switching to BKH when I need a safer hit in front of me.

I also got the Armor of Thorns (damages while rolling, but as a heavy armor it's kinda pointless since you're probably mid/fat rolling), Sanctus and Quelana's stuff. Only thing I missed that I wanted was Smough's armor which was RIGHT THERE in Firelink Shrine. I'm really dumb.
i think kalameet's the only boss from which i haven't gotten the tail weapon. that guy just doesn't waste time fucking around. :/
i managed to get the dull ember yesterday. i think i'll put some points into dex to try the regualr twinblade... i'm not too happy with the dragonrider weapon so far. it's kinda risky to use because you have to spend a comparably long time attacking and use a lot of stamina to deal even decent damage, but maybe that's because i'm short of dragon bones to upgrade teh thing to a proper level
Dood Trigger™
Yeah, Kalameet is relentless. I got his tail back in NG by hitting it a couple times while he was doing one of the grounded fire breath attacks, IIRC the one where he stands on two feet.
he's got a pattern where he smashes his tail down into the ground. i tried to abuse that to get the weapon at first, but he eventually just stopped using the attack pretty much completely and i just gave up on it

BULLSHIT

in other news, i got the lightning twinblade up to +7. it does like 60% the damage of my lght. dragonrider twinblade +1 and doesn't seem to be any faster. i also noticed that the dragonrider twinblade stunlocks enemies like crazy and deals a lot of damage in an actually rather short timeframe. i think i'll stick with this sthing, even if it's pretty heavy.

i also consumed all of my boss souls and spent like 8 points into endurance so that i can pull off 3 attacks and have enough stamina left to dodge or something
Dood Trigger™
What's going on in that pic?

Never tried the twinblades in DkS2. Actually I should try some more weapons in that game. I pretty much just used the Great Club and Claymore in over 100 hours.
there's a chest in the black gulch with a poison-spitting-statue behind it and an oil pool beneath it. if you're carrying a torch and trying to dodgeroll the poison spit, you'll burn down the chest.
Dood Trigger™
Oh wow, haha, what a dick move. I've had my shares of getting chests destroyed and wondering why they all had Rubbish inside. XD

NG++, can't OHKO New Londo ghosts anymore. Things are starting to get hairy. Still was able to tank Four Kings with not much trouble though.
Dood Trigger™
Almost done with NG++. Went surprisingly well, aside from a stronger enemy here and there (see New Londo ghosts). Only DLC + Gwyn left. After 3 or 4 straight hours of gameplay, I figured I'd need the energy to beat the DLC.

This is as far as I got in Dark Souls, ever. Back then I stopped at the Plat requirements. Funny that I used to be so scared of fighting O&S that back then I went literally out of my way for collectables instead of unlocking the warp. Now they're not nearly as menacing and I always do that fight ASAP.

I'll finish tomorrow. Also planning to craft boss weapons on this run.
i've never used a single boss weapon in dark souls
and congrats on getting so far. i don't think i'll ever play any furtehr than regular NG+ in dark souls, if at all
Dood Trigger™
I took Demon's Souls all the way to NG+18, really curious about seeing what DkS is like past NG+6. :)

Never used the boss weapons either. Apparently, Quelaag's Furysword is pretty decent.
doesn't the difficulty cap at NG+6?

Dood Trigger™
Yeah. I just took it further and played over and over with that high cap.

Almost done with NG+++ in DkS. I finished NG++ this morning and already started the next run, hah.
Dood Trigger™
And done. I killed Artorias, Manus and Kalameet on my first try, but the Sanctuary Guardian (who's supposed to be the easiest) kicked my ass. This game...
that's weird, the guardian's by far the easiest of the dlc bosses imo.
how quick are you doing your ng+ runs in dark souls? the game's quite short, so i wouldn't be surprised if each of them took you much less than 10 hours.

Dood Trigger™
Yeah, it's taking me about 3 hours, maybe 4. I've been doing all bosses, so maybe if I skip everything optional it'll be even faster. I want to do the DLC bosses every time, though. 7 Calamity Rings swag.
