OMG OMG OMG I just had to post this in every forum I could think of.

And for all you secret world hating sequence breakers out there, get ready to become acquainted because you'll be needing it!

Using SW17 I have successfully managed to wallcrawl all the way past the Hall of the Elders and door warp into the room with the big half pipe and Antechamber.  And this all happened before Flaaghra!

Allow me to summarize.

I'M SAVED JUST OUTSIDE HALL OF THE ELDERS WITH ONLY 5 MISSILES, BOMBS, BALL, SPACE JUMP, AND ICE BEAM!!!!

Now how's THAT for a sequence break?  And this is no April Fool's joke, heck it's not even April 1st where I am anymore.  If you want the details you'll have to wait for the morning, I'm doing it again to make sure that it's legit.

oh happy day!

Thread title:
Just how do you get past the wave door leading to crossway... i heard long ago about going outside the world to reach ice but you can't get past the wave door w/o wave... what could have possibly changed?
The purple door leading to crossway is only purple on one side of the door.  I learned going from Main Plaza to Tower of Light that even if a door is a colour on one side and blue on another, it can be opened from that one side using power beam, and that's just what I did.  Kinda similar to Morph Ball before  Missiles too, all it takes is shooting the door on the right side  Wink .

Congratulations. It's a congrats well deserved.

How many more breaks will there be now that we can get by Magmoor without Varia?

Before, when I said it wouldn't be possible, Wallcrawling and moving between rooms was in it's infancy. Then we never knew about HOW the loader worked outside of rooms, how to open doors with wrong beam from other side etc.

Now, with Flamy's dedication, skill and the development of the SW's, he has managed to crack a penultimate sequence break. However, I'd like to say that it can be made even EASIER for people, as he was using tricks that just aren't needed once you get to the Hall of the Elders.

He was still in a SW state when in Reflecting Pool, and Door Warped in. However, by climbing onto the open roof in the HOTE, you can morph, drop into the room, kill the ghost and do a TBJ up to the tunnel to bypass the Wave Beam hole. Going to the Ice beam as per normal!  :D  8)

I think Flamy (and the rest of the SW team), deserve a round of applause. Let the new Sequence Breaks and No-Varia run begin!!!

How ironic... Secret Worlds... The thing a lot of ppl (myself included) thought to be nothing more than a pointless bit of amusement... thesep ointless things have opened up a tried and failed sequence break that may now be pulled off (Magmoor, No Varia)...

Ah sweet Irony...

Indeed. It only took experimentation and observation to develop, just like any low % /speed run in MP...

That depends on how they have programmed it. If the suits are upgraded in layers, you would still get hurt in Magmoor.
You will still get hurt in Magmoor until you get the Varia.  However, anything past Twin Fires Tunnel does not deal any damage.

An interesting effect without the Varia:
A lot of the Phazon in the Mines does not hurt you.  For example, when getting the Artifact of the Newborn, only the last several inches at the very end of the tunnel do any damage.

Indeed. Also, with Phazon after Varia you get Phazon protection but movement underwater is still harder until Gravity is collected...

But even so, getting Phazon Suit after Power Suit will still reduce the damage taken when going through any heated parts of Magmoor.

Which is always handy...
I'd like to announce that I've got Ice Beam before Flaaghra on three separate files on my memory card  8) .  Now all I need is Andrew to confirm that this is possible and then I'll tell you how you can get your  hands on the Ice Beam before Flaaghra.

All for the low price of $9999.99!

Or a polite "please", whichever is easier for you  Embarassed .

~Flamy "the omnipotent"

EDIT:  It's too bad you didn't ask me before you gave up on that purple door... it's really not that hard to get past it, especially for an experienced wallcrawler like myself  Embarassed .  I've got multiple pictures in Crossway with only power beam if you don't believe me  8) .  And I apologize for the bragging, I'm just so proud of myself!
The code behind the suits is probably like

If you got Varia:
-----------Heat resistance = on

If you got Gravity
-----------Water Movement = on

If you got Phazon
-----------Phazon Damage = Off

I think coding the Phazon to provide all three and Grav to provide heat etc would have been deliberate. Not accidental.

Ice before Flaahgra, the PROOF:

Enjoy...
Does this mean we can get a 21% prime run?  THEY SAID IT COULDN'T BE DONE!  What's next what's next?  Don't say nothing, cause secret worlds make everything possible.

Actually, 21% won't be possible, as you'll need the four energy tanks. All that will be possible are a lot more sequence breaks.

By that, I meant physical appearence.
Not impossible
just highly unlikely

It doesn't.
So does that mean you'll still get the big shoulders and stuff like that?
Not impossible

Yes.
Well, I don't think so on the Phazon Part.  I used AR to start with the Phazon Suit, and I had no big shoulders.  I was immune to Phazon, except in the place where you get the Artifact of Newborn, at the end I took damage... Rolling Eyes

Ok, that's just weird. Any ideas on why the Phazon hurt you?
Well, it was near that "concentrated" Phazon...
Wouldn't you still have to trigger the flaahhrggras or what ever it'l called so  you can fight the ghosts to get the artifact.

Can't you just  go around magmoor  with the ice beam?

nope, just have to get spider and do this or else get supers. afaik the flower won't be there but you can tbjm into the artifact and collect it just fine.

nope, need boost ball to get through the frigate without gravity unless someone can figure out a way to get around hydro access tunnel.
