I've made a low% TAS of Metroid Zero Mission that finishes the game in 23:48. I'd say the result is pretty interesting, in particular some of the boss fights.

Probably asked a billion times, but which rooms require the Grip? Without analysing too much, I didn't see anything glaringly obvious that stood out as requiring it over just bomb-jumping.

You cannot possibly skip the Grip ever. It's required.

So, I watched it and it was amazing. The Ridley fight was incredible.

I saw quite a few tricks that I could use for speedrunning, so thank you! :P

I understand that it's required, or he wouldn't have got it. What I was asking was what makes it required?

Or do you mean that the game stops you progressing without it?

There's an unbreakable thing that blocks your path until you grab Power Grip (one of those that you get a bunch of bugs to eat up at some point in Brinstar). As far as gameplay goes there shouldn't be anything that's impossible without it.
