they should ... which os/browser? and can you duplicate it with only one tab open, i.e. make a new post and then edit it and see if your edit appears within a few seconds?

Win XP with SP 3.  Firefox v4.0.  My editing of posts is fine, and appear as quickly as new posts do.  It was another user's post that flagged the unreads as 1, but I was still viewing the same topic.  I clicked on the unread, for it to display the same topic, to click back in and find the last post edited.

Edit: testy test.  Yes, mine are fine.

that's definitely a bug ... but unless it can be reproduced consistently it will be hard for me to fix.

it's almost certainly a bug, but it's also a subtle one ... what if you go to the unread page?

Just had exactly the same thing happen.  Same thread, same section.  New posts, not flagged as Unread.  Clicking into the Unread section displays nothing, and the thread is still marked as having new posts.

Are guests normally allowed to start threads? The split started with a guest post, so I wonder if that might be an issue since I'm seeing the same thing.

You know what would be really cool? If there was a move2 tags that moved things in the opposite direction of the current move tags.

so like,

would go from right to left, but

would go from left to right.
