I see what you mean. If you click on quote (don't post - just look at the text), you'll see that there seem to be all sorts going on inside the quotes as well.
- No "Go to newest post" option when in the list of topics.
No I'm pretty sure there is.

- Clicking [in tabs] or [tabs] for 21 unread posts causes my Firefox to block out 15 popups, and no tabs are generated.
Just allow popups from this site, the only one's you'll get are those tabs. IIRC 15 is the max amount of tabs the forum will use when you click the open in tabs link, if you were wondering about that as well.
the quote tags are unbalanced. if you have three opening quote tags then you have to have three closing quote tags. this is the same on any forum.

you can just hit the link multiple times to get over that limit. i can't remember why i put it in but it was probably to avoid a surprise if there are suddenly 300 unread topics.

Will there be a working search feature? I stress working.
Okay, this thing's loading slower than shit and after every two or three links I click, the forum completely and utterly stops responding when I try to navigate to another page. It's not my browser and it's not my internet, because every other site I try works fine. As did the old forum.
I think I'm just gonna cut my losses and depart for now. Maybe if this thing starts working properly... until then, ciao.
sorry about the downtime just now. the server ran out of memory and i had to restart the forum.
luckily i saw this coming last night and i'm already about halfway through a solution to keep it from happening again. keep in mind that this is the first time this has ever been used in a production environment so things like this are probably to be expected. i'll let you know when i have the fix finished.

Oh poo, an unhappy customer. You've every right to take your money somewhere else.
If you're gonna bitch throughout the whole transition, then taking off for now is a win-win idea.
yeah, i was just thinking about that earlier. i should be able to make it to where the page refreshes only if there are new posts. that way not only will the number in the main bar refresh but the whole page showing the posts too.
So far my only problem have been choppiness when scrolling (in topics), and posts being rendered in the pagination/reply area while scrolling in topics (for about a frame or two). I suspect the root of both problems is my laughingstock of a computer.
it seems like people running firefox on windows have this problem a lot - are you, and if so, how much memory does your computer have?

Quoted text was slightly smaller than the rest in SMF. I think that was better.
i agree.
Quote from Gamma_Metroid:
Mods and admins only have different colors. Just to be clear, they should have positions below their names like in SMF.
if you click the little arrow beside a user's name you can see more information about him or her. for users in special groups, their usergroup will be shown. the reason it's there rather than on the posts is to save vertical space, but that doesn't mean i can't put them on posts in certain styles in the future.

search should work fine (much better than smf's in fact), though it only displays topics atm, not posts. what do you think is wrong with it?

In IE8, the bar that scrolls with you is stuck partway down the page in the Taiga red greena nd blue skins.
thanks for letting me know about this; i'll take a look as soon as i can. does it look right in any of the others?

Is there a way to make the "View Unread Topics" page auto-update?
I went to look at a bookmark of an old topic in the Boardwalk forum. And 2 of them made by the same member had the topic title missing (just replaced with a period ' . ' ), as well as the content of that initial post missing. I don't recall if they were edited, but I'm guessing something may have gotten lost in the transfer to the new forum. It was back on page 7. I'll try to look for them.
This made me wonder what / if any -other topics may have gotten corrupted. :-/
Perhaps that doesn't matter since bumping old posts is against the rules... & maybe isn't worth worrying about at this point. :-/
Edit: I could go digging around to see if anything else is messed up, but it wouldn't be too easy on this computer I'm on now (it's too old me thinks). Maybe I'll wait until I get home, or other people can check around....
That is - if the admins think it's worth the trouble.
They probably saw it and thought: No nerd is anal enough to actually go back through this shit and look for stupid crap like this so screw it. Then lo and behold... (j/k hon) ;)
