Annoying
I was thinking from the 100% ending of MP3, where Sylux chaces Samus's ship at the end, since M2 comes after Corruption, would it be logical to put a battle with him in a recration of M2? I'm working Metroid Zero Mission 2, so i decided to put this here so i don't waste my time trying to program him.

Metroid Zero Mission 2

You're remaking a remake?

Ooo, ooo, call MZM2 "Dread of Samus", for my shits & giggles!
Annoying
Wow... that's what i was going to call it, well actually just Metroid Zero Mission 2: Metroid Extinction. It's going to be a lot like Super Metroid, but it'll also have some things from Metroid Fusion... especally the music. Anyway, the topic is about weather Sylux should appear in my remake.

Well, an idea I'd had running in my head (mind, I haven't actually played M2) was that the Pirates got a version of the Power Suit to work (the regular-lookin' one, rather than the ball-shoulder'd Varia/Gravity variants) and assigned it to GF-renegade named Houston (with the armor grey & blue, a la the Maru Mari comic and, supposedly, the Metroid comic).  With the GF forces keeping the surface level of SR388 free of Metroids, Houston would be sent in to nab some of the suckers if he could and kill Samus as a must.  A few encounters with him here and there, news about a Space Pirate ship actually landing on the surface, and after the final battle with Houston, Samus walks off, leaving him in the makeshift arena to die or walk away (depends on how Houston'd've decided to carry on) when suddenly Ridley pops outta nowhere, stabs him with his tail, tells him he's failed, and slams him into a wall.  Then he tells Samus that her efforts were in vain, since they've harvested enough Metroids to make due, then flies off toward the ship.  Cue trip to ship, beat-down on Rid, then SELF-DESTRUCT SEQUENCE!

Problem:  Ridley shows up in the beginning of Super-M, so him getting whomped here would ruin that.  Also, how the battle with the Queen would fit into this is hazy to me, since it's after her defeat that the last Metroid egg hatches.  Perhaps Houston-Ridley-Ship-Escape-Queen-Egg-Escape?

Anyway, that's me with something worthy of a C-rate fan fiction.  However, if you really feel ballsy, you can incorporate GF surface troops with Adam Malcovich (sp?).
Are you ready for some underwear music?
Your idea seems good, TJF588. But Ridley was in the M1 and got killed by 'The Samus' (making her seem famous there) and he reappeared in SM.

Anyway, you could put Sylux to your game so that the MP3 ending would be canonical. Also, there would be a sequence after the departure from SR388 where the space pirates attack Samus' ship and escape back to SR388. Added game sequence like in MZM.

P.S. Unknown items would be great.
Annoying
Ridley won't make sence, and besides if you downloaded AM2R (the topic RIGHT above mine), Ridley got destroyed in the demo. And to make it more sence, you'll fight Meta Kraid. He was never in the Prime series because he COULDN'T be in it because he was rounding up the metroids on SR388. When he'll get destroyed, 30 or so metroids will also because he puts them in a small chamber inside his stomach (creative way to use such a fatass). What do you think about that?

You could make his belly-button-claws a sort of claw-'troid fusion, where the claws will seek you out?

The MP3 ending is canonical, it shows us there's going to be another Metroid game.
Mister ...
Possibly an official remake of Metroid 2, since it is next in the Metroid Timeline.

I am TIRED of all this "Corruption is the last new Metroid game" BS.  I mean something like Dread, or some new game that comes after Fusion.

I'd definately want to see the Fully Powered Fusion Suit in action.  All the strength of her previous suits at a fraction of the weight and bulk, along with an, if not the, ability(ies) of a Metroid.  OH YEAH.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Meh, I'd rather get the SM style suit back, I'm not terribly fond of the Fusion suit variants besides Gravity.

I agree - Fusion's outfits aren't the most appealing to the eyes (aside from the Gravity Suit - he-llo...  aiwebs_008)

After all the discussion I've seen on this board about a remake, I'm all excited now. I've been playing through M2 again and all along I keep thinking "how would this game look if I [insert something about Fusion/Zero Mission backgrounds/environments here]?"

I'unno, I'm OK with the orange-colored suit, whereas Gravity looks kinda 60s-ish (damn hippies!).  Thinking about it, the Varia Fusion Suit's scheme is like the suitless Samus that you get when using the JUSTIN BAILEY code in M1 (purple body with green 'overlay').  The normal F-Suit, it seems like the normal body color (yellow, like the normal P-Suit), with the blue being... *shrugs* 'troid "feces"?

No, it isn't.

I assume by "F-Suit" you mean Fusion suit.  The normal body color is blue, with yellow "spots".

Purple 'metal' parts (leotard), green 'natural' parts (hair).

The blue part(s) are an overlay of the Fusion suit in a similar way as the orange/purple parts of the Varia/Gravity suits are to the Power Suit.

ALSO: I think I prefer Fully Powered Fusion Suit because the helmet area(s) are red rather than that... magenta... color.

Ah.  I thought you meant the Varia suit's colors on the Fusion suit (that some people call the Omega Fusion Suit).

Only that the Varia Suit's different colors are just that; color changes.

First of all,i have to say that even though that goddamn ship looks a lot(and i mean a lot) like Delano 7,no one guaranteed us it was...
Sylux in 2-D would look a bit retarded to me,i guess, even though i like it...
Answering to TFj- how about: Houston-queen-egg-houston-ridley-escape?sounds a bit more trustable, cause the last metroid egg hatched(i don't believe that little bastard was the last metroid in the universe, with lots of them beeing scattered through the universe, but, let's assume it was)and Houston tried to get it 4 the Space Pirates, and he fails cause Miss Aran kicks his ass again and Ridley, the never-dying-always-returning son of a gun returns and tries to kill you(again?!where have i seen this movie?xD) but you kick his draconic ass and he escapes before you actually kill him,so he's still him without any robotic parts like at the start of Super metroid

Jeez, you guys are digging things up (that, as typical, I'm too lazy to look directly back on).

@Luna -- Well, the matter is that you'd have two Houston battles, so something'd have to be changed up.  I could imagine them fighting over who could get into the chamber for whatever purpose (Houston for grabbing a Metroid egg, Samus for killing the Queen) and then, after Samus wins both fights, Houston makes a last feeble attempt to get the egg.  Still, that second shot would have to be A) a cutscene of Houston being offed by a pissed Ridley, leading into SvR, or 2) a faux battle a la Biggs/Wedge->Elvoret (FFVIII) leading from Houston->Ridley;  If it's pi) Houston battle then Ridley battle, I'd still think Ridley's would best start out as being piss at Houston's failure with the matter of who kills him (Rid or Sam) on the table.  Overall, though, seems like a decent thing to work off of, and a Proto-Ridley battle would be kinda neat.  "Screw missiles! Give me a bio-flamethrower-throat!"

@Gamma -- That first thing was from before I knew that that color change comes from acquiring the Varia, not as a direct result of the code.  Was it this thread that I first felt dumb about that?  Anyway, if I understand your second thing right, I mean that all variations of the Fusion Suit have that seemingly metal base with the bio-ish-looking stuff on top in the same way that the normal Power Suit's upgrades are on top of the "base" suit.  I know that the Fusion Suit's upgrades only result in color changes; I was just using the "old" suit as a means of comparison about the "new" one's layers. ... or something like that.

lololol...yeah..a flame-breathing throat would rock my world...still...i don't think that Metroid Fusion was the last time Miss Aran had to kick Ridley's Ass...that huge son of a %&/*#.(sorry,i just played Super Metroid for the first time and the second battle with ridley was a bit though, cause i was playing in an emulator).
Even though Ridley X(or Neo Ridley,in Japanese) looks a bit different from the Regular one,it was still(technically) a specimen of Geoform 187 aka Ridley...but...well..I miss Kraid...Kraid could be in a cave somewhere in SR388...maybe near those ruins wich had all the beams 4 you to chose...But,if they make a MII:RoS remake i think that they should raise the number of metroids, cause 39 is not enough..they should raise the number of Gamma/Omega fights...i still enjoy those ones,i prefer MII's Omegas rather than that one fat pogo-dancing omega metroid at the end of Metroid Fusion aka Metroid hyppie...
still...they should do a simple re-release of Super Metroid for NDS,like they did to TLoZ:A Link to the Past for GBA...
Let's face it,even though it's not my all-time metroid favorite,it's the game players have been clamoring around, and it deserved a new release...Nintendo could lose their minds and release a special MII remake+Super Metroid re-release 4 NDS for the price of what?let's say...60 bucks..2 amazing games 4 that price would be awsome...but i'm just drifting away..lol

You just say that because you hate Hunters.
OH ****!!!!
I think all the hunters expect samus and trace would look bad in 2-D. I just like Trace so thats the only reason why i think he'd look good doing that.
I actually think all of the hunters would look just fine in 2-D.  In fact, I can image most 3-D characters being in 2-D and not looking bad.
...
Very true.  Let's not forget that Metroid is both 3D and 2D.
