Metroid Exp: Exploration - Great, Skills - Decent
I know I made a topic about this over on GameFAQs a while back and I wanted to know if this was already done before I decided to publish a movie on how to do it. I have the original VM0 and VMV movies from this still, but that one is done pretty late and is for example purposes. I am recording a movie of doing it at the time you are generally supposed to.

In VBA, what options do you use to record a movie to be put up here at Metroid2002?

What You Do:

Follow the Ridley before Kraid path, except instead of going all the way down to Ridley, take the second door up from the bottom, where you would normally go to the four-expansion area, except when you get to the room with the vertical column with missles on it, freeze one of the enemies about 1/4 way up the column, jump, get the missles, then jump off the column and barely grab the left ledge, then proceed through the door.
Thread title:
This is well known, and done in the world record run.

Still, something needs to be posted on the main zero mission page, I cant find it there so I figured I would provide the movie, unless nobody wants me to based on that.

If you meant that column, that's done in the any% run, too. Pretty standard stuff. But if you meant the one requiring you to freeze that flying helmet enemy in Norfair, I think that's been discovered already, too. Since you never have to fight Imago at all in any% runs, and since you don't technically need the speed booster at all, and since there are tanks that don't require either the speed booster or Imago fight, it can be easily concluded that it is indeed possible. In fact, all you need to do for Super Missiles before Speed Booster is get onto that pillar, spin-drop to the left, shoot and grab the ledge. You don't even need to freeze enemies or side-jump if you jump frame perfectly (assuming of course that you don't have Hello-Jump boots).

Also, the second door up from the bottom that you refer to is actually the THIRD door up from the bottom. There's a hall that has an etank behind the very bottom door, and the second door up from the bottom is actually more of an exit than an entrance. Although technically you can still take the second door up from the bottom and side-jump off the crumbly blocks to get up to that floating pillar, then head left for the super missile.
