Room header is overwrited. It means, all or most pointers to data are wrong. To fix this, open this room in default ROM, then when in this room, load corrupted ROM and save room.
If you're serious about your hack, you'd be better off posting your stuff and asking question on MetConst. The MoonEdit FAQ is very out of date now, but it's there too if you still need it.
I am so glad to be back on M2K2! Since 07' Question: I know this seems like a REALLY stupid question/Resquest, but can anyone help me find a non-PAL version of Super Metroid? The one I downloaded from Doperoms (http://www.doperoms.com/search.php?s=super+metroid) several years ago is PAL and we all know SMILE won't run it. I have looked for several hours but still couldn't find one. A link would be very appreciated. Please no hacked versions.
@arkarian, I didn't know that realize it, I am ever so sorry, It's been so long... @DaveBastista, My ROM is labeled Super Metroid (E)[!]. It is a PAL version... @Quietus, thank you, btw I can be blind on overlooking..how unfortunate.lol
I am using (JU) now and lemme say, "...uhhh, yeah idk what I am doing when it comes to editing..." SMILE is an amazing program but it really needs a guide or something, bc other than that it has it all! I hate when I find something awesome then idk how it even begins to work but that is when practice comes in.
Thanks you, I will be reading in no time! Best hopes that I can learn something... Sometimes I just fail. lol. (okay, Major thanks again really helpful!)
DaveBatista Ah, hell, I have an error in the guide. I should fix that. Thanks for discovering!
Basically, when you just enter one more line to the file mdb.txt, SMILE will TRY to open this room. If there are correct pointers, the room will open. Else, SMILE will quit with ErrorCode = XXXX message.
In your case, there are FF's at 7E9C0. Just read further. Open this room in SMILE when you'll copy all data to 7E9C0 through hex editor. And after then make a level data (or everything else) repoint.

This is a much better guide for beginners, as it explains in detail what to do when starting out.

I Quit off there. Quietus knows me as the guy who had BTS Errors. So yeah, I'd go back if Zhs2 and/or GF_Kennon unbanned me. Considering the fact that they don't/no one, believed me. Anyways, this is a HELP thread so I'm gonna shut up now.
I know this, but I was talking to 0samusaran0. Also, nobody has been perma-banned from MetConst yet, and I believe the longest terms have been six months.
Alright, I'm having a crash which I cannot explain, it occurs when running through this room and shooting a spazer shot towards the right (see pictures below)
The only thing I can think of is possibly the beam hitting all of those PLMs, but if that is the case, why doesn't it happen in the original and why doesn't it happen in other areas of my hack? If you need more information to help with this, ask for it and I'll respond with what you need ASAP. Thanks for the help.
