Don't hurt me Mr. River-in-the-circles-of-hell! I won't do it again! Promise! >.<;;
I like your design, but that room looks kinda... symmetric? like, its square next to square, i would expect that a cave would have bumps and stuff like that xd

hmm, where's acheron's theme lyrics when you need em? ^^;
Yo.
@ Zeph: Right here.

Shhh.... I can hear him... running.... with the hammer of justice.... those footsteps.... I remember them well....

You better watch out
You better not cry
You better not flame
I'm telling you why
Acheron is coming to town
Acheron is coming to town
Acheron is coming to town

He's making a list,
Checking it twice;
Gonna find out who's breakin' the rules.
Acheron is coming to town
Acheron is coming to town
Acheron is coming to town

He sees you when you're trolling
He knows when you're flaming
He knows if you've been a troll or normal
So be normal for goodness sake

With bug banhammers and little moderations
Funny remarks and nice little claims
Acheron is coming to town
Acheron is coming to town
Acheron is coming to town

He sees you when you're trolling
He knows when you're flaming
He knows if you've been a troll or normal
So be normal for goodness sake
Goodness sake

You better watch out
You better not cry
You better not pout
I'm telling you why
Acheron is coming to town
Acheron is coming to town
Acheron is coming
Acheron is coming
Acheron is coming to town

(Coming to town)
Acheron's a busy man but he has time to play
He's got millions of moderations to fill every day
(Acheron is coming to town)
(Coming to town)
(Acheron is coming to town)
(Coming to town)

'Tis worth it to make Acheron go "GRRR" again! extra_smug

On-topic: About that Gaia Heights pic... It's nice to see the original palette being paired with it! BTW, those Crateria graphics, no matter how many times they are used in a hack, shall never die. Some of the other tilesets got boring, but not Crateria! :D

Grrrr.

I agree, Crateria is a classic. And Zephyr already said it, but it couldn't hurt to make that cave feel more "natural".

I don't agree here.
It's good to make the caves "natural" But there should still be boxy parts here and there or it's not normal. =P
Yo.
I disagree, G-Krys. Rarely in Earth's environs is anything box-shaped; rather, most of nature's architecture is built based upon the magic shape called the circle (see caves (natural formation,) spider's webs (organismic formation,) and the planet itself (natural formation which is based upon a 3D rendition of a circle.)) While we can't say that natural formation on Zebes follows the same principles, I think it's safe to say perhaps they can be compared somewhat - for Zebes itself is not a cube. Wink

All right, Let me re-stat my point.
I think it looks butt ugly if you add in to much in every damn room. Happy? :P

You don't have to add a lot, just don't make everything look like squares and rectangles. That's not cave-like.
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
I generally find that simply rounding off most of the corners is usually enough to remove box-syndrome, while still being able to keep some of the basic structures (like your morph ball tunnel) in place.

Redesign is butt ugly? aiwebs_016

@FP: Lolz grass underwater.
(sic)
Remember - there's more than one type of cave. Maybe this was an excavated one, but hasn't been maintained in a long time and so is both flooded and has grass growing in it.
If it is a natural cave, add some variation in the terrain, but remember that design takes precedence over scenery in most cases.

Water weed? chozo disposals? :x
I suppose it's worth mentioning that I'm also using the
Boost Ball patch made by Insom.

I mean, he did make it by my request, it only makes sense that I use it. :P  It's already been implemented and feels like a natural fit for SM.
Wow.  This past week has been filled with no hacking, then plenty of boostball issues (they're okay now) and now tonight, lots of work on Sanctorium.  I'm now 81% finished with it.  Only 5 more rooms to create, three of them escape rooms.

I also worked a bit on Gaia Heights this week, got a couple more rooms done.  I'm now up to 68% done there.  36/53 rooms.

Next up will either be finishing Sanctorium continuing more into Gaia Heights or starting work on central Cyclonia.  I'll try to get some new screens of my progress up sometime soon. :D
Keep up the good work ;D
Fear Me! (Or else...)
I do like the difficulty level of this - I can't do mockball or anything, and most of these hacks nowadays are way too hard for me. This one I can actually complete, and it has a nice ammount of self-exploration in it. Btw, did you ever fix those small spots where you could get stuck before?
OMG FLAN!!!!!!!

Ohhhh. then you won't like my hack... if you want 100% hehe

Just a thought though. Are you going to keep the intro the same in the finished hack thats in the beta, or change some rooms around? Though I know it would be difficult and probably very boring to change everything.
Metroid Exp: Exploration - Great, Skills - Decent
How did u get the 'little hallway style' map designs, the design you used in the vent shaft. Was that something through SMILE?

I didnt bother trying to get the Kago missles. You may want to fix your room design where the Morph Ball is, the psuedo-hole just doesnt look right.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Anyways, I agree about the Morph Ball room's edge. There shouldn't be an open edge there; it might also be nice to have something more articulate in the room. As it is (in the beta), the room looks fairly unnatural, with rectangular chunks seemingly cut out of the room and an inexplicably impassable open area at the end.
By popular request, I have changed the Morph Ball room.  It's still really basic though, but I tried adding a couple slopes.  I can't make it any fancier though.  I'm literally at the room limit of 203/203 and it's not worth it to give this room more space.

Great room FP Exclamation :-D extra_smug
Why not go the old school way and put a chozo statue holding the morph ball? that room looks good but empty :/

Lazy! It'd take you all of two minutes. :)

That room looks much better now, as well as much faster to play through. ;)

Maybe he has such big plans for this hack that it might take up all of the free space left over after ASM work!
Oh, I didn't read about the limit =/, but I still think that a chozo statue holding the ball would look better
