Fear Me! (Or else...)

Sorry, don't mean to post that much. But, you'll notice that if I posted twice in one day, I had a reason for it - namely, I accidentally hit post without attaching or something like that. Anyways, about the compiling, there's a simple answer to that idea: I can't. You can't edit attachments, and you can't add attachments when you're editing a post. So, I have to put up a new post whenever I have some large amount of progress to add to this. Also, I generally posted with the attachment once every other day or so - not that often. Sorry if it seemed like double-posting, or something.

Back to the topic!

Any ideas as to what other rooms I ought to add? And no, I'm not doing lava or acid. There's not much of a point to those. I'm thinking in terms of, What skills should I make an area for so you can practice? or What other items would you like there? or What would you like to practice? I could add rooms with actual enemies, or something like that. You choose.

The blog suggestion still works (and I think it is a pretty good idea that would work for a lot of these projects).

Maybe... I'll think about that one. Would I just post here saying that it's been updated, and to check the blog to see what's new? Just keeping one post, and editing it. Unless someone else posts here saying something that I'd like to respond to, in which case I'll post outside of updates. I'll go look at blogs now... *Scurries off*

Or you simply say that you will keep minor updates to a blog, put a link to it here and let everyone who is interested check for updates whenever they want.

This is what I would do. Understand the purpose behind this--if everyone starts mini-blogging on the hacks forum we have turned a place to converse into a place to read people's hack blogs. This is not ideal.

I'm going to call this the "rule of precedent". Ask yourself: if everyone else did this, would the forums become more useful, or simply more complicated? And could it be done better somewhere else?

In the case of mini-blogging, the answer to the first question is "more complicated" and the answer to the second question is "yes". If you're worried about getting the shiny "new" tag next to your thread when you update, editing a post does this as well--I would set up a quick blog, link to it on the main page, and edit the main page. This keeps the forums cleaner.

I know that about editing the post, but I was thinking it's easier to get input from here. Also, the maze is almost done, I just have about one more screen to go. After that, I'm done as far as I know for now, because NO ONE HAS AN IDEA OF ANOTHER ROOM I OUGHT TO ADD!!!! Gr... it seems a bit restrictive right now, and would be better if I had more ideas to add into it.

Sorry dude, but coming up with interesting ideas is tough enough as-is. I don't think anyone's going to hand out the good stuff. Go back to the drawing board, but please don't solicit for help or use the forums as a "suggestion box" for ideas. Discussion is one thing--asking for someone to do any part of the work is another.

(Thus began Acheron's reputation as the jerky forum mod. Yarh!)

Since the water issue is that small, I'll see if I can resolve it first. After that, yeah.

Okay, if someone will please PM me with how to lock a rom, I'd like to lock this one, so people can't cheat on the maze. Then, I'll release it. This is, for sure now, the last time I'm gonna modify it.

Ok, this is (hopefully) going to be the last post in this thread. I'm going to mention that I finally got a team of four friends of mine together, and we'll make a fullhack. We'll only update here when it's done. In the meantime, Acheron, would you please lock this thread? I think we're all done here. Thanks in advance!
