Ok, that shall be enough information for now.

If someone wants to help: help is required later, not now,(of course I thank anyway).
First the SM2-engine and the tools need to be done. Also the graphic-engine shall exceed the SNES-standards (like in MSR388)
I plan the game in wire-frame mode first. After the game-design and programming finished the final and serious graphic-work will start ( here is where I would appreciate help very much (tilesets, sprites, and also music and sounds) )

I will come back after a big while with SM2 and SM2-T related stuff when I see some use for it.
J-SNAKE,

You say that people aren't willing to go buy a bunch of controllers, which is mostly true.  But it's also true that some people will play this game, I really wish you would reconsider releasing it.

So what did you program SMTac for and promoted it? If it was just for testing your ideas, then you never ever should have put videos online and started threads in several metroid-boards.
Release it as it is. Some people will play around with it and give you some feedback that can directly flow into SMT2.
So put a website online with some explanatory text, what`s all about and what SMT2 will look like.

That way more people will get interested in helping you with SMT2/SM2 in the future.

And just to get you right. You want to program a whole new engine to be used in two games, SMT2 (which is SMTac + Engine + MapEditor + A.I. + Online support) and SM2 (single player game base on your new engine and SMTac)?

It's not that unheard of for someone to put a ton of work into a project that was intended for release, then when it's all said and done realize they aren't happy with it. If he wants to keep it to himself that's certainly his perogative, since the creator of a project is usually judged by his work and he might have higher standards for his own public releases.

Please accept and respect my decision. It will be the best for all of us.

You very understimate SMTac and the work and time for senseless(unfortunatly) optimization of SMTac for the public. For me it is already enough and I can use SMTac to study A.I. .

I don't think anyone is able to tell me how the SM2-Engine shall be after playing SMTac. And first I will be busy for a longer time developing the SM2-Engine. Then I may offer some testing possibilities for the public to probably get and implement more ideas into the engine. Also I have already many solid ideas for SM2 (SM2-T is automaticly included somehow), so first they need to be implemented into the engine anyway, independent from feedback I would get from SMTac.

Also no one is complaining that Von Richter does not offer his Engine for testing and feedback purposes.

Oh so you consider SMTac to be an engine now?  Well, that makes things a bit clearer now, and I can understand then why you wouldn't want to release it.  I guess the thing was that you hadn't stated that fact very well and we were all still thinking that SMTac was in "game" form.
Fear Me! (Or else...)
It was. If you read his earlier posts, he says that he's working on developing an engine for it, because before, he didn't have one.

a short info before disappearing for a longer time:

official name probably:

METROID: ARMAGEDDON

will take place after SM and there will be more planets involved in action. Also Zebes might not be fully exploded but revisitable for certain reasons.

Cool! I always didn't like Zebes being gone forever. It seemed like a classic that was permanently erased so that future games couldn't revisit it. Wish that the whole thing would let you play it again and again once it was beaten...

Definitely true. A new game+ would've made super metroid even more awsome than it already is.
This looks really good is it realesed yet?

Nope, it's still in development.  I don't think anyone knows what the release date will be except for possibly J-SNAKE.  Might be worth checking out.

If you REALLY want a new game + for SM, just use the s/t beam after beating MB. :P

True, but a legal way would be cooler.

No gameplay footage or anything for people who haven't looked. It's simply a video that says essentially what his posts have been saying, over still shots.

Guys, I'm going to make the best fan game ever. Only I can do it. I am...the chosen one.
THE DEEPEST GAMEPLAY EXPERIENCE EVER.

Isn't that what was once said about Daikatana?
If he would put as much time into his hack as he does talking about it then he would be done by now

Programming, debugging, and fine tuning an engine from scratch takes longer than you'd probably think.

IDEALS for METROID:ARMAGEDDON
http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=jOIjPJaf2ps
im not going to get excited about this until i see CONTENT.
I'm sorry, it's another video that's just a list of "things you'd like to see in a game". Except, a lot of it really does read like "big words for ammo, the only good physics engine ever, plus Super Metroid's style of turning on and off items in your suit".

There's no content, just "here's a list of things".
