Ouuuuum
Ahh yes, I figure it's about time I can bring this hack to more people's attention than just those who frequent #jzd. First order of business: the goods!

Overall progress: ~10%ish
Crateria: 80%ish

Norfair/Wrecked Ship/Maridia/Tourian/anywhere else: 0%
Super Metroid: Remix will have revamps of every room in the game, with no changes made to the door locations. Some areas will remain remnescent of the original game in certain aspects (namely the smaller rooms with tight size restrictions), while others will be wildly transformed into completely new looking areas. Another notable difference will be the order in which some items are acquired. There will be no custom graphics added. Instead, all new tiles are made from pieces of existing graphics found in the game or simply imported from other areas.
Game difficulty will range from easy to challenging and there will be no advanced tricks like mock/speedball required to progress, only wall jumping, mid-air morphing and the occasional shinespark. The aim of Remix is simply a new interpretation of the original. An attempt to recapture the feel of exploring Zebes' alien environments for the first time and never knowing what item, puzzle or enemy waits beyond the next door. Well, unless you know there's a save room on the other side. =P
And now, I'll end this post with an older YouTube video I recorded. A lot has changed since this clip was made, but it will give you an idea where things are headed. Consider this the official trailer. Enjoy yourselves, and feel free to make comments/suggestions/compliments/insults/threats to my family as you see fit.
