Why, thank you. I have every intention of doing just that, but even better.

Also, I've made 4 videos actually, but only squichigo's been privelaged to see the 3rd and 4th ones, which'll be making an appearence in his collaborative tribute.

And just so this post isn't without some sorta content, here, has a screen.

Congratulation on making a shitty palette/GFX match...  that looks damn fucking good!  O.o
I have no idea how you did manage to do both on the same time, but you did.

More simple: It looks cool.  :E
What'd you say?
I love how you mixed norfair's, crateria's and brinstar's tilesets. The only thing that I don't really like about that screen is the BG, the vertical tiles just don't seem to be a good match.
OMG FLAN!!!!!!!
I agree. I think in a room with that kind of FG, a custom layer2 background would be much better. The only problem is that it takes up much more space.

Ouuuuum
Way ahead'a ya on the layer 2 BG idea. I always do those after the foreground is finished and room space isn't an issue anymore, shenanigans. You can expect to see more than just three areas' graphics mixed, as well as a fair amount of hand-painted stuff.

Edit:
Something along the lines of this.

Place now has graphics from Crateria, Maridia, red Brinstar (not pictured), Wrecked Ship (not pictured) lower Norfair, Crocomire and Draygon's rooms. And a little bit of a L2BG now, needless to say.
What'd you say?
The BG really upgrades that room alot. I don't really like the triangle type floor samus is jumping above though, I dunno but continuous slopes just don't work well with me. Keep up the good work.
Ouuuuum

Aside from the door, every tile here was painted from scratch. Only 12 are done so far, hence the lack of variation. Still got like 40 more tiles to draw and a couple of palettes to work with.

And no worries about the continuous sloping, I don't abuse them as much as the screenshot would probably have you believe. I try to keep the landscape formations from being repetitive or simple.

That is so amazing I can't even form the right words of praise. So organic and alien!
I want to bear your children.

I still think it looks weird with the red inside the walls. :<
I think it was mentioned that you should draw up a few trimming tiles to ease the transition from the light parts to the dark inner walls.  Otherwise, looks pretty good Grime.
Ouuuuum

Iz dat sum variation? Still no transition tiles to go underneath the floor/walls yet, but those'll come eventually. My next bounty's coming up with another palette to use for background tiles, sheechyeah.

And only if I don't have to pay child support, Dman.
What'd you say?
My god that is amazing. Those pillars look they have red eyes at the bases though.
Ouuuuum
They are red eyes. =D There's be more than in other places eventually.
Time bomb set get out fast!
Can't wait to play this one, Grime.  I think you could use a less generic name than Remix; it makes perfect sense for a half-hack, but it's not exciting.  Between graphics and room interiors, it looks like you're changing the SM experience a lot -- a unique name would convey that better.
What'd you say?
I got a name:

Super Metroid: Bad Trip.

What do you think?

I think someone is stealing my idea, you idea stealer.

Or maybe it's just out there in the air....  ya know?

Okay.  Samus's Nightmare....?

Samus; "I knew I shouldn't ate that spicy teriyaki chicken before retiring to my sleep chamber."  Sick

Edit: Seriously.  If you want to go with remix - that's up to you.  If/when you use something someone said on here then you'll have to give them credit.  For Me...  It don't matter.  aiwebs_015
. . .
Metroid: Begrimed

nah, I don't really care what its called.
Whatever you decide to call it will be awesome in my book.
Keep up the great work!
Ouuuuum
Yeah, Remix would have applied well to the halfhack that this project started out as, but it'll have a different name by the time it's completed. I haven't thought too much on a more fitting title. Metroid Grime (haha, Grime instead of Prime, get it?!) came to mind, as did Super Metroid: Grime's Super Sexy ROM Hack (Super Metroid: GS:SRH, © squishy_ichigo). Only the future will tell.

Given the new tile set, maybe... Super Controid.  Think
I have actually thought of this hack as Metroid: Grime for most of the time, until I checked it again and realized that was just your username. And I never thought of the prime thing, but I seriously think you should call this Grime (thinking of the dirt kind of grime, apparently there's also a music style called grime...)

By the way, the graphic set you've showed us looks great, though I think the amount of detail might be a bit much for the eye to handle on such a small scale. Looking at it closely the detail can be seen, but at first glance it might have sort of a "grainy" appearance. When playing the game you are in movement, so that can be an issue. Maybe add another color to make smoother transitions? That could help, but I guess it's hard to fit anything more into such a small space without changing the appearance too much. It still has a unique feel to it though.

This is Super Metroid: Grimetroid and probably everyone, myself included, is looking forward to it.

End of discussion. Razz Razz

I simply couldn't resist showing the new graphics off in action, so here ya go. Progress has been a bit slow the last few days due to alcohol and webwork, but I'll be back at it soon enough.
That looks amazing.  I'm not a huge fan of excessive walk-through walls that are indistinguishable from solid ones though.  Can't wait to play this one, it has a very distinct look.
Time bomb set get out fast!
Beyond kickass, Grime.  By the way, should I already know how you're making the Speed Booster do that, or is it new?
I'd suspect it's part of the change in physics.  I was wondering about that myself. Cool
Yo.

I have to agree with this.
Sure it looks nice to have the doors like that but it's also very confusing if you don't allready know where they are.
