I noticed that he demorphs in a tunnel in redesign; I thought this was impossible? Was it changed just for that tunnel?
with trimming precision he managed to spring ball over the morph-lock tiles, and avoid touching the walls (which are morph-lock tiles) this allowed him to super missile the block. you'll notice he had to have a lot of speed mockball and spring ball acceleration to clear the correct tiles, and yes, he isn't even touching the ceiling.
In actuality I missed a tiled in the floor of morph lock tiles, so instead of a solid line of those tiles theres' a gap allowing him to jump, over the other lock tiles safley.
Amazing, although lower Norfair early was already shown to us by Kriole. It was so fast I almost couldn't follow you at times.
Yeah, but he used a Crystal Flash to enter LN, which would be impossible to do at the time I entered it due to the lacking ammo. As Drewseph mentioned, the secret trick was to make precise moves in the maze right before LN in order to not triggering the demorph-lock and thus being able to shoot the Super to break the final SM-block.
And regarding Ridley, yeah, he has a serious weak point against a pseudo screw attack which I used all the time with the combination of a few more shots to lower his HP even faster. And as you can see, it's very well possible to do that without taking damage yourself. It just requires very precise positioning during the hits.
As for the lava Guardian, he was indeed tricky to optimize, especially the exit part.
As for the smv, there is no need for one now that I use a new technique to encode the runs so that they look just as smooth even on YouTube. And a video is much easier to watch for everybody, so the smv gets irrelevant anyway.

...Eh, unless you're on dial-up.
Maybe I can check it out at work this Tuesday night. 8-)
Edit: I seen the first 34 seconds of it. I'll go ahead and wait... Till Tuesday I mean. :P
Anyways I'm play testing ahead to test good point to obtain more items and refill points. this is actually tough!
Sure is, ammo/health management (good ammo/health management) has always been one of the toughest things in Super Metroid, doesn't really help that luck is a huge factor either...
The next WIP is finally out, and it's also the longest one so far. Alot of new stuff in it, and the Speed Booster once again shows what a powerful item it is in this hack:
