What?!

It is as horrible as watching that guy who made 100% with Through the Fire and Flames in Guitar Hero.

That's just the room i mentioned, thanks Quietus for displaying it.
But now, more whining on this game Confused I mentioned the Maridia 1 Guardian, which i think that is going upwards in a room that has speed blocks in the ceiling (lower far left vertical room). My question is: where is the place to run and charge a shinespark??
Or it might be as i'm suspecting from since i started playing, that there's a way to store by longer times a shinespark, or some other place where i get the blue suit (since it can't be done in Draygoon's room)?
You can do a shinespark chain in Redesign similarly to how you do one in zero mission.  There are several pickups in the game that require you to do this.  It also helps to learn how to do a short charge.
OMG FLAN!!!!!!!
You're gonna hate this; and you're also going to need savestates, or you'll be here for weeks.

You charge at the bottom of that room...
Then you have to quickly store the charge, savestate, then jump up and shine spark left/right so you hit a slope and keep running. then straight away, store the charge, savestate, jump, shinespark, store, savesate, jump, shinespark, etc. about 30 times until you can get up the the top of the room. It is pretty easy to understand how it's done (and you'll need it to get the SM just before the elevator to Brinstar in lower left Crateria), you just need to be very quick and presice when you have hardly any time or room for errors.

Save states are pretty much neccessary because most of the time you can't see the slope you're aiming for, and need trial and error.
There is one specific location I intended you to start from to get those vertical speed blocks, and its an Enegry tank up there, not a Guardian.

Attached is  the intended shine spark path to get it. as well as the impossible path mentioned above.

Wow I sure could have used that pic on the one time that I actually got that item !!  I had  thought that there must be alternate paths to take, but it looks like the one I ended up doing was the hardest one.

What makes me say 'WTF!?'  is the notion that one of the paths needs no save states.  I guess save states aren't really required, but the idea of attempting to do that without them makes me feel faint.  In fact I think I need to go lay down now.
*deleted* (mistakenly posted above message twice. )
YAY TEXT
Just wow... This game makes me drool time after time :D

EDIT: Is there an open position for Drew's personal kiss-ass?
Quote from Sigfriedxx:

Oh damn, I completely overlooked that small hidden room near the Tube Guardian. This unexpected possibility to get a charge there opens new route possibilities to use in my Redesign TAS, which should allow for a great shortcut and save alot of time. Thanks for the picture, Drew. :)

You're not alone on this, don't worry. I couldn't imagine to pass this long green path without any savestates myself too. Recharging the shinespark is very critical, and easy to mess up because of the very limited time you have for the crouch after hitting the slope, so it's doubtful that there are many people who could carry it over such a long distance savestateless.
hmm Saturn, PM me your shortcut Idea on TASvideos.  lets talk about it

Also this green path has a shortcut that's made as you break the speed blocks at the very top and left side room just above the starting point.  the rest of the rooms are actually VERY easy to do if you have a keyboard.  I tried showing this off in an old LP when I guest commentated, but the lag from the recording made it very difficult to keep up with the timing needed
I definitely did the upper yellow path in my save.  Was quite tough, even with savestates, but as said, it got easier in the green part.
OMG FLAN!!!!!!!
Wait? I was talking about a different room altogether lol. I though he meant the one with the guardian in the top hidden in the roof.

Well I can't open the room in SMILE anyway cause the editors all weird with it. All I can see is the map which doesn't really help. I was talking about the room just through the upper right door of the right-most room on your pic. There's two gates up top and and missile hidden halfway up. Up top is speedbooster blocks with a mssile I think. Couldn't see very well in the level editor.

But I'm sure in your pic I took the green path. I saw the SB blocks in that long corridor and thought that was the way I was s'posed to go.
What?!
Th, th, that, is what i must do to get 1 TANK!??!?! aiwebs_016 NO way!
At least i know i'll never manage to learn this 1337 skill, therefore never get 100%.
N, n, no way ever, after that i'll just headtackle a wall until i pass out for some hours, that's just too much for me...
I only got it once.  NEVER AGAIN!  I lost alot of hair that day.
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
While I understand the difficulty involved in this, which I believe was the whole point for attaining 100%, I have to say that on any occasion like this, save states and 50% speed are more than enough to see you through without trouble.  Under console conditions is another matter, of course.

Then i didn't bash the walls an rested of it 3 hours. 5 minutes ago i made the lower medium run. And yep, savestates and speed down helped. [?]
Um, guys, the green route is seriously easy to do without slowdowns OR save states.  its 100% doable with little practice.
Time bomb set get out fast!
Hey guys.  Picked up Redesign again and this time I'm determined to finish the thing.  (I've made a couple of attempts before, but petered out after a while.)  This hack is pure Super Metroid fan candy/porn, and bloody hard but never unfair.  Kudos to the creators.

Question: Has anyone else had a problem with the game freezing when Samus enters a door?  This isn't happening to me a lot, but enough to be frustrating.  In particular, I just got a PB expansion in West Norfair that requires insane bomb jumping, only to find that I can no longer get back through the door on this savestate.  Is there a fix for this?  I'm playing on my PSP, if that's relevant.
It's probably a result of playing on PSP.  I've heard that Redesign doesn't work too well when emulated on PSP/DS.  Everything works fine for me on the computer.
What?!
There are 2 parts (one in Crateria and other in Norfair) that force you into ball mode and then require you to jump straight up. But they're just too tall to reach and i can't chain bomb explosions to get there. Any clues more than "Try to be nimbler and more precise when placing bombs" ?
If IBJ is too hard in real-time then you can always cheat and slow it down
What?!
Oh great! How couldn't i think on that?? Thanks man!
pwuh Can i be more sarcastic?? grin new
Nahh, it's just a lot of 1337 skill there. I'll see if i can pull it off today.

OK FINE!
"Try to be nimbler and more precise when placing bombs" ?

I actually found the IBJ in Redesign no different from the original.  Once you get started, it's all just down to timing.

Here's the method for Redesign:

Lay a bomb.
Just after it explodes, lay another. (This should only be about one bomb height above the original at most)
Lay a third bomb after you drop about one morph-ball height.
You'll get bounced back up by bomb number two; lay another bomb at the peak of the jump.
You'll get bounced back up by bomb number three; lay another bomb at the peak of the jump...
Repeat as required.

Wow, you've explained the infinate bomb jump several times by now.  You're not the ultimate knowledge guru in playing hacks, you're the ultimate knowledge guru of bomb jumping!!  grin new  Sorry if this is an inappropiate post, by the way....
Time bomb set get out fast!
Problem solved.  In case anyone else runs into this, what fixed it for me was going into and out of the emulator menu several times.  Go figure.

Quietus' explanation of IBJing is dead-on.  There are two things I'll add: first, the timing is sometimes different depending on what you're doing with the jump.  You have to lay the second bomb earlier for those brutal diagonal-into-IBJ jumps, for example.  Second, no matter how well it's explained to you, you'll need a LOT of practice before you can IBJ consistently.  I still usually fail the first few tries, and I have to use savestates to pull off a multiple-screen IBJ.
