Metroid Exp: Exploration - Great, Skills - Decent
I think what may explain the lack of a thread for Reverse, is probably because its not played as much as the others and therefore nobody really talks about it.

Back on topic, how many of you have actually ran into that insta-death block in pink Brinstar in the one way sidehopper room. I know I have and I wasnt very happy.

Okay I am sorry but I have to ask more specifically now... how do I proceed in the room after crumble block room and that cactus room? I could not find a way so I assumed there was nothing. Those blind thingies are the worst, there is no sense putting them in any game or hack.
I like Big Butts and I can not lie
In the room after the crumble block room you just roll through the tunnels. I don't know what you mean by blind thingies.  The nth room after the crumble block room is this annoying rooom, I'll show you the route through it because it's annoying

I'm gonna need help in Limit: Can somebody help me on how to get the gravity suit and the X-Ray scope? (if someone can post screenshots, it'll be heplful for me :) )

Jeepers, can't you explore? You won't be getting X-Ray for quite some time. You're in the right place for Gravity; just spend some time in the quicksand.

Finally!!, i got the Gravity Suit :o :o :o :o :o :D :D :D :D :D

I left some pics for know where to find it, BTW you need to beat Draygon for reach the suit :)

OK, since you got that gravity suit, you can no longer get plasma beam (since the passageway under the glass tube is now blocked and that passage way is where plasma beam is)
Every Bit Counts
there are 2 Gravity suits?

Yes, 1 disappears when you get the other
Getting the plasma beam is really tough though.  I've never been able to pull it off, even using slowdown.  I can get past the rising water but I can't pull of the wall-jumping acrobatics required in the next room.  And I understand after that room there's still some crazy bomb jumps required, and that you can't try again if you fail, unless you made a save state.

There's a glitch in Crateria that lets you get the plasma beam though.  You just have to detonate a power bomb in the right spot.

Limit is a crazy hack.  Another cool thing you can do in Limit is skip the varia suit.  You can fight Phantoon as the 2nd to last boss.
Every Bit Counts
can you show the glitch to the plasma? what about the Varia skip?

Skipping the varia suit must be [glow=red,2,300]hard[/glow]

EDIT: Unless you use the pause screen glitch

In the main room in Crateria (the room off of which the save station is located), on the right hand side of the room, if you detonate a power bomb up against a metal post, the item music plays, the word "spazer" appears on the screen, and, IIRC, you have all the beams.  This was with an earlier version ZSNES, 1.3-something.  I don't know if it's been fixed or works with other emus.  I haven't played Limit in over a year.

If you get all 5 tanks you can get prior to entering Norfair, you can get in, get power bombs and get back out suitless.  You're right.  It's very, very hard with all the heated rooms, and necessitates savestates and some luck with energy drops, but I assure you it can be done (and without pause abuse).  Then you can go kill Kraid, get supers (and a couple more tanks), get back down there and get speed boost (also very hard), and get into Maridia, where you can of course get gravity.  This makes Varia an optional item.  Theoretically you might be able to do it with four tanks, which could make grapple skippable too.  I wan't crazy enough to try it as doing it with five tanks was hard enough.  I didn't record it so you'll admittedly have to take me at my word.

Don't you have to beat Phantoon to get all 5 tanks?
I'm sure you can get 5.  There's the one where you have to grapple the creatures, the one in Brinstar where you have to do a tricky jump/morph, the one where you have to use the ice beam to climb the shaft, the one underwater where you have to use the ice beam on the zoomers, and I think there's another one in Crateria, available after you get bombs.  Those are the five you can get.

Can you post a screenshot for know where to place the power bomb?

Well, this makes my Limit testrun a mite more interesting...
*goes off to cry over multiple wasted segments and then to test varialess norfair*
And this glitch does indeed work for version 1.8, the current one. Nice find, DD.
Well, I just recorded the video.
I saw how to do the glitch and tried it out of boredom. It worked well =D
But I still prefer my savestatefull wave/plasmaless route for now =p
It's a very odd glitch that I discovered, obviously, quite by accident while exploring.  The only time in Limit where plasma is nearly indispensible is against Ridley, although I did beat him without it my first time through as I wanted to beat him "legit."  If you have all the supers you can have and all the tanks you can have prior to the Ridley fight it's doable, but still sucks more than any Ridley fight I've ever attempted.

Actually, just so I don't have to restart any other times, does anyone know of other SBs in Limit? I'm still testing to see if Varia skip is viable in a TAS. I also think I once heard about someone ceiling glitching to the missiles in the big WS room, but I've never been able to do it.

For the record, before anyone suggests it, Spring Ball is unskippable. I've gotten it down to one room, the one with the rising water on the way to speed booster, but I have yet to pseudospringball fast enough and am fairly confident it's impossible. Hi-Jump, too, should probably not be skipped, as it's such a short detour; it's probably made up for with the increased vertical momentum.
Every Bit Counts
I'll look at that room for the Spring Ball skip. Varia skip would mean having 6 E-Tanks for MB, unless you picked it up later (which you probably would after a late Phantoon). I'll also look into early missiles. So are you working on a TAS?
Eschews avatars
Well, I was, but I'll have to redo a lot of it now. Plus, it was my first TASing effort and was mainly intended just to be a Youtube project with the best room strategies, leaving optimization for other people (I have absolutely crappy optimization).

If you want to take the project, by all means go ahead. If you have the patience for it, you'll no doubt come up with a smoother looking run.
