Well, I was, but I'll have to redo a lot of it now. Plus, it was my first TASing effort and was mainly intended just to be a Youtube project with the best room strategies, leaving optimization for other people (I have absolutely crappy optimization).
If you want to take the project, by all means go ahead. If you have the patience for it, you'll no doubt come up with a smoother looking run.
Well if you do a test route thing or whatever, then I'll have something to base my run off of. do you still have the Large TAS? I'd like to see it if possible.
Okay, I apologize for no smvs, but suitless run to the speed booster requires at least four tanks, probably five. Fun as grapple skip would be, I'm not sure it'd work. The first three etanks (short detour from crateria mainstreet, etecoon shaft, on the way down to icebeam) would be easy enough, but later ones will be much harder to get. I'll have some test smvs for 1st segment of norfair in a few hours.
ok. as for the all beams easter egg, you can also lay the Power Bomb where the blast cover on the missile door (the one thats under the pipe) would be (as in you need to open it). also, PJ says it possible to get if you shoot it (requires wave).
I'm confused Ducknerd. When I did my suitless run, I got 5 tanks, went into Norfair, got power bombs (where you have to choose one or the other), then exited Norfair again. Then you can go to Kraid's lair and get at least one or two more tanks (plus wave, supers and some other goodies) before you have to go back to Norfair and snag speed boost. The only tank you need grapple for is the one in the big room at the top of Brinstar where you have to grapple the creatures to get to it. I don't know if there's one other time you NEED grapple, except to exit Phanoon's area if you don't have gravity yet, which of course you wont if you're not sequence breaking.
I think I had 7 tanks, maybe even 8 when I got speed boost and I still had a really hard time and had to abuse savestates like a mad man.
yeah i realized that when i read the link below, sorry for the useless post xd
anyways, im stuck, i have like 20 missiles, morph and bombs, and i reached a brinstar room with booster walls and a grayed door... where should've gone?
In the previous room, there is ceiling shot block, inside the "hallway" type thing. you can see the graphic change if you look close enough. this was my 2nd post on this topic.
My bad, I see now in an earlier post you mentioned your TAS. I thought you were just figuring whether a grapple skip is theoretically possible (I suspect it is). All this Limit talk almost makes me want to fire it up again. I've always thought it was probably the best full hack in terms of level design, although I love Dependence for it's non-linearity.
As for the x-ray scope, there's a secret tunnel leading to the right from the little room after Ridley. That leads to a giant dark morphball maze; eventually, you'll run into x-Ray, and if you really want to you can spend like an hour dinking around in that room. There are like three super missiles and two PB packs.
Its not a complete map. I just wanted to see what the planet looked like as a whole. If someone is really good at limit, take the map and add items to it. Just ask for a fresher version before I added details and stuff.
It may sound silly, but I'm not sure if the hack I'm playing is LIMIT or something else. I got the patch from a japanese site a while back. Please check out these screenshots and tell me if it is indeed LIMIT. Also, are there multiple version of LIMIT?
I vaguely remember the ceres rooms being slightly different. But it's been a while since I played. If you got it from the japanese site it will probably be limit, as it says so on the download link itself.
