Hi all I have been away working on this hack for a while now and have finished quite alot so here are some screenshots :)

I'll add more pics with more comments as I do not want to double post :P

The first three pics are of the Normal/Varia/Gravity suits and the rest of Crateria :)

Question: how did you change the color of the ship? Did you use SMILE for any of this?

It looks more or less the same as your old one. I don't really see any differences other than suit color. If I was making the hack I would consider a very lightblue on the top blocks in the graphic set 2 tileset and not that pure white, which hurts my eyes a little.

The ship is characterized as an enemy in SMILE, change it's palette as you would any other enemy.

About the hack, it looks... alright. I agree with Bolgnab about the white. It really hurts my eyes too much to give it a good look.

Is there a problem with the gun being white? or is it like the tiles on the ground and sore to look at?

Also...the game layout has been significantly changed from the last one which you will see in the video that I will post ASAP :)

I resent that :x

Also, the gun being white with the majority of the background seen so far being white could end up being bad. Another thing is that I'm fairly certain that in any of the games, samus's arm cannon is the only thing that remains the same across different suits.

Hence I have changed that as I would like to see different colours for the arm canon extra_smug

Also the arm canon being white will be okay as by the time you get the Gravity suit it won't be...as...white thanks to the changing of events :) and I have made sure that the white on the ground isn't striking white but more darkened down

How do you change an enemy's color in SMILE? I haven't figured that out yet...
Also, how do you change what your shots look like? I've asked that several times in several places, but never gotten an actual response... Is it even possible with SMILE? Or is it just that nobody knows?

To change the colours for the enemy go the the enemy editor and click the enemy you want and on the "Enemy DNA" table to the right click the "right" arrow at the bottom and then click on "edit" next to palette at the top of that table :D

As for the shot colour I can't help you there :(

Btw, would you like any help with your hack? I'm looking for something to do while I w8 for somebody to join my hack group. They get first pick of what area they want to mod, and I don't want to start working on that area and have them want to do something different with it.

Personally, I would do mine first, since apparently you've made a whole lot of progress on yours, and mine just has the suits done. What do you feel like doing? We could bounce back and forth occasionally when we get bored of one, and come back to it later with fresh ideas.

Right we will go with that then (the bouncing of hacks idea) and start work on yours...I suggest to start talking about ideas etc for yours on your topic and the same for mine but we will start with yours :)

Ok. Is it ok if we do this with email, b/c then we could just come out on the forums occasionally with updates to our progress, and it's also faster, and we can attach files. I use gmail, and my email address is in my signature.

The problem with your white gun is that it looks sloppy (at least in the screenshot) and there's aboslutely no shading.

I agree... the shading is a semi-hard thing to do, unless you know to look for it, so you need to watch out for it. Also, it helps if the gun's color scheme goes along with the rest of the suit, and isn't really a different color. It looks a lot better that way.
