Well to clear up the latest controversy:

The palette colors are darkened before any of those pics were even posted, but here's a glance at a before pic and a fixed up pic (darker)....Yes, I know there is a small tiling error 3 16x16 tiles up from the little bugs, already fixed.


Also, the yellow/red HUD palette in certain areas is also darker than the uploaded pic. Until a final beta is handed out to a select few and they complain about it, then I'll darken it more, but it's almost final now.

Also, as for my "blue" area which I'm sure you've guessed is Phazon Yards.....will need some color tweaking, as obviously I'm trying to make it looks "phazon-ish" with the texture and colors on the ground.
Update 9/9/09: ^^^^^^^

-Reverted to a backup due to an error that wouldn't let the game load.
-Almost finished (still) with Auric Caves. Multiple other areas have a good amount of level design progressed.
-Entire layout (map) completed.
-Still need to add ASM changes.
-Couple other Nintendo game references to be added.
-Beta .01b released to test "most" of Auric Caves.....well the rooms that are finished (I think) anyways. SMILE won't reveal any other secrets I have up to this point.

I appreciate CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM! Bashing/flaming "OMG YOAR COLORZ ARE MAEKING MAI EYZ BLE3D!" criticism is NOT appropriate. But any helpful comments are welcome. Thank you.

Back on topic/Feedback for the demo:

It seems most of your slopes are broken. You need to put the square slopes on the tile next to the actual slopes, or samus will get stuck. Also, in your landing site, the very top row of tiles should be solid to prevent the player from running around out of bounds. Some of your doors look green but are actually blue doors. <-- This is very confusing. I was also able to get stuck in quite a few places.
Where I think bombs are, they don't appear if you don't have missiles yet, and I was able to get there without missiles. Also, in a couple places that maybe you're not supposed to be without bombs, you can get stuck (upper right landing site)

Regarding that feedback......I'm not understanding how most of my slopes are broken? Unless the beta I put up has Maridian type rooms? I put up a new beta from the first backup after my crash that has everything corrected. Bombs, they ARE there, you just aren't looking hard enough. The GFX for it hasn't been corrected though. grin new Also I found out why you were able to get stuck in top right LS....
You used machball to get passed the bomb blocks in the small pipes 2 rooms right of the LS. Normally you'd need bombs, but when I recovered from a backup I didn't delete those speedbooster blocks in the pipe.

That has also been corrected as well.

ALOT of rooms have been updated to fix sequence-breaking.....though perma-stuck situations are high priority for me. If you find one, please......please tell me where it is and not just say you found one. I will admit though, I never put a solid ceiling on the LS for some reason. That's my bad. Remember, this is my first hack, and I'm aiming to make it as errorless and fun as possible. Thank you guys so far. New .IPS patch up top to v.04b

Cardweaver: The blue doors that "look" green. They aren't green (obviously) but the haze I have affects everything with a gold-ish tint. So blue with goldish tint......and obviously, it's the first door you must open anyways so how it's that confusing you've got me....shoot and if it opens then there ya go.
Beta .04b released to fix issues from .01b that drove people crazy, and caused a couple perma-stuck situations.....surely due from using a backup that wasn't completely "fixed". This beta has more recent level design and gfx changes (energy tank icon in HUD is ever-changing) that are more than likely final. Area of gameplay is same as first beta. New(er) pics posted as well for newest GFX Changes....

....I am sorry, but somebody (I can't remember who) inspired me with one of their pics to have a digital HUD. If I remember who it was I'll add a thanks for you. Also, a couple new screenshots of the new stuff added in the first post.
