Has anyone ever played this hack? I currently have all the non-expansion items except the space jump and plasma beam, and I just can't find out how to get into maridia. I've been stuck for hours, x-ray scoping just about every square inch of the game and still don't have any promising leads.
Thread title:
Go to Blue Brinstar where you got the morph ball and go to the right.
Didn't find anything new there, that just seems to lead to proto tourian, which is a dead end. Are you saying I missed something there?
Well, ProtoTourian is "Maridia" =3

I couldn't be sure you found it from your description. If you didn't kill Draygon (which I guess you didn't given that you said PT is a dead end), then you need to go to the top of that opening tall Metroid room and power bomb up while on a platform at the very top of the room that seems to serve no sensible purpose.
Thanks, found it. This game hides important areas far too well, I mean it took me at least an hour to find that stupid passageway leading to all those parts of norfair.
Wow, I'm on a bad streak with this game. Beat Draygon but, like other bosses in the game, didn't even give me an item for my efforts. Hoping that grey door in lower norfair opened up, otherwise I'm stuck again and perpetually frustrated.
No, but a grey door in PT opened up. It's in an area above the purple "pipebridge" right next to the tall Metroid room you entered PT through. Still, even that will only give you an item to make things physically easier, not unlock another path.

Did you find the third "entrance" to Norfair?

I'm assuming that missed item is the space jump, and that the plasma beam is hidden in lower norfair somewhere.

And as I said, I've been to lower norfair (which is accessed from the third norfair passage), even used a cheap sequence break to get an early screw attack.

Seemed like a pretty useless area, basically ended up coming out a one way door to another part of norfair (same room as the elevator back up to brinstar), no boss fight or anything besides golden torizo.

Anyway, I'll go retrieve the item in proto and look through ridleyland more carefully.

Edit: Just got the plasma, but remembered that I'm missing the wave beam >_> Guess I'll have to re-explore the **** out of the game again, which would help for 100%ing I guess.

Actually it's the opposite =)

You missed Ridley. He's near the end of Lower Norfair - but before the acidrise room.

Exploring around the entrance to Lower Norfair will also yield the wave beam, but you'll need the space jump from Ridley first

-Ridley room was cruel to find, I had to spring bomb a couple blocks and spring jump until I got luck to have one appear under me, then an x-ray scan showed the obvious path into the upper part of that room.

-Got the wave beam, interestingly enough I had reached that room before getting the space jump but the torizo statue wouldn't lower the acid. Good job on the game developper for taking out that SB.

Edit: Got damn mother****er. I can't believe I can't find motherbrain, I've looked through proto, crateria and can't see how it would be in brinstar, leaving norfair and wrecked ship. Probably won't find it with my luck.
As far as the location of Tourian:

It's connected to Crateria. Only one room to the left of the ship as well. Once you PB the huge wall you'll move to an area that has a suspicious bridge that you can't see the floor under it, because there is none. If you speed boost over it, it'll break and you'll find the way down.
Cool, just beat the game. Can't believe what they made you do at the end of the escape sequence, that was just animal cruelty. And here are my pathetic stats:

clear time: 8:48
percentage: 87%

I'll try and beat it under 3 hours now :P
