Lock on to the grapple blocks that you used to fall through the floor with. When they break shoot the Grapple beam again up towards where the one just broke. Doing so will grab another set of grapple blocks above the ones that are breakable. That'll get you back up to the top of the room.

You have got to be kidding me D:. I totally tried that and couldn't make it work. Looks like I need to give it some more effort. Thanks!

What I like to do in those situations, is to just keep tapping the fire button. That way samus should shoot right as the block is crumbling and grab the one above.

Forgot to mention: EXCELLENT hack by the way, DMantra. I'm not even really a hardcore Metroid fan. In fact, I just found your trailer videos by mistake a few months ago on Youtube. They're what got me interested in downloading hacks in the first place.

Okay, I guess I have to go back to where I found grapple beam. However, I don't remember where I found grapple beam, lol.

Also, where do I find Plasma Beam & Varia or Gravity suit. Reading through previous posts in this thread, I think I'm supposed to have atleast some of those already. My equipment:

Others here have gotten it without high jump, I myself could not.

With perfect timing you should be able to speed boost from the lower right corner of the room, then jump and speedball off of the tow platforms in the room, sending you speedballing into the area with the tank (thats without high-jump). WITH high jump you can jump over the first platform and speedball off of the second one.

I thought i didn't need the platforms att all if I had high jump. Just speedboost from the right and jump/crouch into the wall

I have now found the Plasma Beam, once again though, I'm unsure of where I'm supposed to go from here.

I'm also curious on the whereabouts of either the Varia or Gravity suit. Also High Jump boots might be my next item?

cmay, looking at your current items, I think you need to get Varia, then go to the Lower Norfair area next to fight Ridley. To get there:

Go back to Norfair, on the same path where you fought Crocomire; you'll be able to open a gray door using PBs to kill the enemies in a room along the way. That will lead to the WS and from there you can reach your next destination.

Help for Varia:

In Eldridge/WS area, shortly before the elevator into Keraurn/Lower Norfair area.

As for High Jump Boots:

come after or before Gravity Suit (you are supposed to need them for Gravity but can skip them if you're clever). They're in Maridia.

Plasma beam is an optional upgrade of course, but it's very handy.

Does this room have Red Pirates in it as well? I'm able to kill four enemies in the ceiling, along with the Red Space Pirates, but the door doesn't start blinking. It's a heated room, so I only have so much time in their before I die. Is there more to that room than meets the eye and I'm supposed to proceed further?

Ah, you know, that's another room on that path but I think that particular gray door never opens from that side. Oops.

The door you're looking for

is right after the narrow lava lake room where you ride the platform creatures.

No. I just made that for aesthetic reasons. Since those two rooms are in the original, and at that time Cliffhanger appeared more like a half hack, I wanted to give that area a feel of revision, a different path though the old one.
