I have problem with Ridley also..
Have 7 E-tanks , 20 SM, and plasma but not Varia suit...is it possible to beat him without the suit??

I know people have beat him suitless but I imagine 7 e-tanks is cutting it reaaaaally close and you'd have to play perfect. I'd suggest getting the Varia from

Alright gents. You've told me where I need to go, but I can't seem to find my way to the noob tube to be able to continue on. Thanks again guys. :)
I know it's in NE Joulbrin, but I can't seem to get that far east from within Joulbrin. I'm pretty sure I see said noob tube on the map, but no real way of getting to it.

Take the east elevator down from Crateria to Red Brinstar. There's a door you'll see on the left you need to bomb jump up to; then you'll be in a room full of water with a door on the top left and bottom left sides. Go through the top left door, then go to the top right of the next room. You should be able to find it from there.

Maybe too late, but
you can also short charge and Shine Spark up instead of i-b-j'ing to that water room.
  That's what I do anyway.

haha what a ridley fight, was still very hard with varia to fight him ..
it was weird that the grey door started to blink during the fight so you could leave the room

Take the upper left door of the red brin elevator room (or as I like to call it, the Brin Gallery), then take the upper left door in that water filled brin room. From there, it should refresh your memory.

I just found Springball, but I can't seem to progress any further into
(what would be) Maridia.
Where do I go from here? I think my next target is a second run through

I just got the grapple beam, and I can't figure out where to go.  I've been reading the thread, and it seems like I'm supposed to go back to my ship, but... how?  I've found one room with a floor of two breakable grapple blocks, and when I break one and fall through there are three large jumpers.  When I kill them, the locked door becomes unlocked but I can't get back up, and there is one super-missile block on the floor but I don't have super missiles yet...

Lock on to the grapple blocks that you used to fall through the floor with. When they break shoot the Grapple beam again up towards where the one just broke. Doing so will grab another set of grapple blocks above the ones that are breakable. That'll get you back up to the top of the room.
