Just found Grapple myself. I had to IBJ for that third E-Tank. Dunno if that was how it should've been done (though it seemed easiest and most obvious).

Judging from the posts here, I think i need to find the Wrecked Ship, however, going by what Xaggoth said, I may be looking for a while...

EDIT: Found it. Actually not as hard as I thought.

You could've froze a ceiling sidehopper, dropped down onto it and then bombed your way up into the passage in the ceiling with the etank.

It took me forever to decide to bomb that little piece of pipe to get to the lake. I'm stuck again though:

I left the ship with supers, but can't find a place to use them. There was a hint to Keruarn, but that seems to be a heated room with a grey door. I'm assuming it opens when I kill everything, but two of the enemies are in blocks of what seem to be solid blocks and I don't have anything to kill them. I can't get back into the ship to see if I missed items from a gray door

Edit: Oops, is this it?

THat place in Keruarn was the right place, you just

missed a door

And springball is stupid because when I finally found the place to use it I went through SO MANY rooms just to end up back in the Keruarn elevator shaft. At least I think I know where to go though, since my path divided and I apprently chose the wrong path.

Is it time for Lower Norfair?

Edit: oh wait, if you don't have varia yet you wo--well actually you might be able to get through there without the Varia but I WOULDNT RECOMMEND IT.

I'm in Keruarn doing a heated room run and I'm finding that the speedbooster doesn't want to work very well in heat. Most of the time I boost and get images, but I can't destroy enemies and walls. It's frustrating, the room isn't hard to get through, I just need to break a wall that I can't.

Edit: Croc's dead, but all I can get is a pack of missiles and an e-tank?

Wait, so high jump does exist!? Along those lines, is there a gravity suit at all, or will all of the water that I've been seeing always be suitless shenanigans?

More towards my progress, I got supers, and am having a hard time exiting the area. Any hints? I just passed through a room that looked like old tourian.

Ok, so I got past the last part, and beat Croco. now I find myself with two options. Explore this one room that was sorta hidden, but is heated, and long, and has red pirates, or go find places to go with my new item. I'd rather not have to go all the way back, then realize I was wrong, so I just want a yes or no to this one.

Do I go through the heated room to begin the next main path?

Just started this about an hour ago using the original version. Very fun so far. I just managed the hell run to the speedbooster and back to the red bug recharge station in one piece. One E-Tank only made it quite nasty.

If you haven't gotten Varia and a slew of other items yet, then no. Hijump is pretty late.

In other news, awhile ago, I just got what I've dubbed The Tank. It's gotta be the hardest item pickup to get in the game. Pic very related.

Sorry if this has been asked, but

What do you do after getting the speed booster? It's kinda hard to explore with 1 E-tank when your hp is getting drained, and all I found was a little morph ball passage that has a door in the ground I can't seem to access.

You can leave Norfair after that and head back up to Brinstar. After SB, there's nothing else you can get down there for now.

Anyway, I just got spazer, and lemme tell ya. Thats a ton of work for the crappiest beam.
