I no longer allow myself to wonder too much about when/if this hack is coming out - it's too painful. If it does not ever surface, then this has got to be the most extreme example of how these things never come to fruition. This honestly looked like the best thing since redesign. I realize acheron has a life, but an update would be cool, even if it was just to say that the project isn't ever going to come out.

This. When is the last time Acheron even posted? I understand these things take time. I have nothing but respect for the work it takes to make a project of this scope and to balance that with other concerns. I respect perfectionism. But, for those of us following this for the last two years, just a little information would be nice. We obviously have no right to demand it, but it would be nice.
I don't think there is any information. The last few times Acheron has posted, he's said the same thing. It's done. He's just waiting on assistance from others, including music stuff. There has been / is no further update to give, as far as I can tell.
Perhaps bumping the thread every few months crying for an update is not the best course of action as I would assume that if he could give information he would. Let the thread die if it's going to die. You're helping nothing by constantly bumping it up because omgi'vebeenwaitingyeeearzzzzupdateplz.
If it turns out Acheron's disappeared entirely (not at the moment, but months down the line), was anyone beta-testing for him who has a reasonably complete version of the hack that we could finish as a community?
WOW.... <--- That sums up everything that I feel about this hack. I really really wanna play this, and all of the hacking with the graphics, and the music, all just makes me want to play it more. Gee, the game-play itself looks awesome, while it still has the refreshing creativity to top it. I really can't wait, and I hope everything goes well in making this.

Something in another thread said to open the tab "Other" next to the tab "BTS" and change it, but when I open it, it just says "music" with a drop down list, etc. Am I looking in the wrong area? You know, if I didn't know better, it seems like he's just a huge troll and everyone fell for it. Its been, what, 2 years and only has 3 videos to show? Not only that but he mysteriously disappears for months without saying a word, or he never posts in this thread and posts in others. People even offered to help finish but not a word from him. So based off experience, this sounds like it's not going to happen. Prove me wrong. Shitstorm commence.

No one is crying, don't be stupid. We've all been excited since the very first teaser video and had been promised that the hack would be completed within a year or so, and it never was.
It's nice to see there's some people in this thread that feel the same way I do. I'm sure we'd all love to play this hack, but I think it's time to just accept that the hack will never be finished.
If one day I come back to this site and the hack is posted in the "Now Playing" section, great. I'll give it a go. Until then, I don't enjoy being strung along. I've lost interest.
I Cheat at Golf nailed it. There have been countless started and abandoned projects, most of which no one has given a second thought. There's never been a project that appeared to be (1) further along (heck, it's supposedly pretty much 100% complete), and (2) more promising, that was suddenly abandoned to this degree. That's why the high level of interest.
Whatever happened to Acheron, if the hack eventually comes out, great. If not, the lesson is that no matter how good something looks, no matter how high a completion % is claimed, and no matter how confident someone is as to eventual release and timeframes, believe it when the patch is released, not before.
He's just busy with life. 2 jobs + college.... he's still working on it...
