It'd be even better if people wrote up a common list of points where people get stuck or miss something in random hacks and the solution, although in some cases stuff like that doesn't help since people aren't looking for it.
Alright, we'll keep our mouth shut. In the meantime, I have to prep for a few essay-based projects, my California State Tests on Geometry, English and Science, just get my money every weekend for mowing my aunt's lawn, and go get Crisis Core for my PSP, and try to finish Revenant Wings on my DS.
Now that you're saying that the release is delayed by another week, you just made me a nightmare, pointing that when the week the hack is probably released, I have my course finals. Midterms were garbage compared to what's next.
I was obviously joking. I'd have to be an odd one to be serious about something so petty, no? IRC definitely sets me back more than anything. Except maybe Cpadolf's awesome TAS skills...

And hopefully later boss fights will be MUCH hard than that... Other than that, I loved the new video, keep up the good work!
Did I pull up the map at some point? Oops. Anyway, no, that's not the final boss area.
That fight's actually pretty tough without a decent amount of e-tanks. And, of course, there will be a hard-mode version of the hack. I didn't want to make it too tough, since I'm going to provide a harder version anyway. To answer the question, yes, the later boss fights are tougher.
Quote from Cardweaver:
I can't help but notice the double Torizo action in you sig... Can it be?
Actually, that's what happens if you put two torizo in one room. Well, Samus' moves were my work, but the torizos do the dance all on their own.
so acheron you maneged to change the name of the spazer. is it asm? the reason i ask is because i would really like to change the name of my suits. any help apreciated btw .
Any future questions about how I did this or that would best be asked in the SMILE help thread, I think. Even if it's not necessarily a SMILE function... ;)
I like how you did a post-explosion state after destroying the system reactors. I would have thought you drew that or imported from the Zero Mission tileset.

Just saw this thread and video. I'm VERY impressed by this hack. exploring looks fun again, and use of new tile sets is amazing. how much of it is hand made? my only gripe so far is that rooms seem like blank walls. and too box-ish. I wish you'd get more detail and curves into the area. but I will give this hack a playthrough for sure!

Coming from the guy who made Redesign, I'm flattered. I really do hope you enjoy it. I'd say appoximately 70% of it is hand drawn, though I often look at tiles used in other games for inspiration. The other 30% is fusion/ZM rips, but they're still altered. I actually think they don't look as good anyway (in the video, the gold area and the computer room are the ripped tilesets).
To address the gripes, I feel the same way, actually. Unfortunately, due to the way I set up the rooms (moving them to new banks and not leaving myself much room), combined with the loss of my old level_entries file, my hands are somewhat tied--it would take a considerable amount of time to allow me to edit the old rooms. The good news is that the areas I haven't shown off are graphically much more interesting. You'll have to take my word for it until the hack's released; I want players to experience the best parts firsthand, after all.
My plan of course is to polish off Aegis in the next month or so and release it when it's ready. Then I'll take a break, continue to learn some ASM, and build interesting tilesets in advance, so that my next hack will make this one look amateurish. Let's hope it plays out that way. :)
