Just ordered the game, it should arrive here any day soon. I need to hear something important one has to know when speedrunning this game, tips, hints, etc. I've seen the SS any% run and all the tricks that this site has, but some small pointers and such would be appreciated.

Have you seen the 2 TASs
Ah crap, I should really work on that 1% SS because the runs on sda are quite outdated.

A bit over 2 years btw
I forgot, don't forget to use double core-x shots
Thanks P.JMan, I've seen some of BioSpark's 100% TAS. There was 85min of it on Youtube, I watched that. If the SDA runs are over 2 years outdated, could the recent runs be around 47-48 min SS and less segmented? I dunno, I've only played this game through once on my GBA emulator. The only thing "timesaver" is just running with speedbooster when going to sector 3 PYR. Wasn't that one?

I'll certainly try those double x-core shots, but I've heard they're not all that easy.

I think today's segmented 1% run should probably tie the any% run record. Bio's aiming for 53 1%SS, so perhaps sub-50 segmented is thinkable. Heck, there have been claims that 1% is actually the optimal completion percent. Although one request I have for anyone attempting is that they get Ice Missiles through the back door (no innuendo intended).

Double Core-X shots isn't too tough. IMO they're not even as tough as 2-hit Serris.

2-hit Serris.

Why would you wanna 2 hit Serris :-s
2-hit, as in killing him with 2 shots.

And I dunno about double-shots. Sure, with normal missiles it's not too tough, but I think it could get harder fast as the missiles get stronger, probably still possible though.

And especially with the beamcores, wave was almost impossible even with tool assistance.
So the "Wave Beam flare" is almost impossible even with tool-assistance?

Thanks to all of you guys, I just received an e-mail saying that the game has been sent and will arrive tomorrow or any day soon. I'll do a couple of test runs and so on.

Once again, thanks.
