no, I'm not sure. It just seems weird that after an hourish of trying part2, I randomly get a distance I've never seen before with a dash, unless it had to do with being shot.
One more thing that I just noticed... When I scan dash using an object that is too far in the distance to actually scan, it DOES take a moment before I really take off. Its hard to tell in real time, but I'm guessing along the lines of .2 sec??? Could just be a coincidence though
Might multiplayer be the best place to mess about with this ?
scratch my idea... I finally got to a room where I could test this jump on an item that was too far away to scan, and it fails, you lose all momentum right away, regardless of whether or not you hit something
*New Secret World* :D  :D

It is in the main reactor where you first faught dark samus.
Directions.
1. Spider ball up the track to the white light beam door.
2. Go into the corner with the Luminoth and space jump and land on an invisible ledge theat clips you up there.
3. Jump forward onto the top of the bars that kept you from jumping off near the door.
I hope no one has found this already.  :D  Then I made a new discovery. I can't record this because I don't have a capture card.
Someone try to record this and if its new please give the credit to me.

Hey, I posted this over at SCU ----> http://www.samusforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=2178&start=405

Hope you don't bother :)
That's okay, but if you can edit your post and say its found by meDroid64, It has a d in place of the t. if you can't oh well thanks anyway! :D

ps. You should probably put it in the secret world topic if you want.

Sorry, I'm to tired, need to get some sleep hehe

Well, fixed both your name and posted it in the right topic now. Check above post!
this is a speed tricks topic, not a secret worlds topic. :P

just thought i'd point that out
Sorry but you USE secret worlds to sequence break.

I was doing the spinner->bridge dash in my speed run, when suddenly a Rezbit shot me with his laser when I was in midair. The extra momentum from being hit pushed me completely onto to the bridge... no terminal fall for me!  Laughing

... unless a Pirate and a Rezbit are different, which they very well might be.

and?
you didnt find one with the secret world. and in any case, a run useing a secret world wouldnt be eligible on SDA
oh yeah, I remember reading that post but just forgot about it..oh well.

the idea itself of dashing while being shot is fine, I just don't see where it can be used. There are no enemies in the room before Vault that shoot at you..so you can only dash into a puffer.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but being hit by a projectile pushes you into the opposite direction the projectile came from, doesn't it? In kips video, the projectile clearly came from where kip intented to dash jump to, thus he should have been pushed back to where the platform is, where he started the dash.

so?
I just did this to help people who use secret worlds in their runs like flamy, but I still like the regular SDA rules more. Anyway I'm just telling them a secret world to help them get ideas Idea . I agree with you carnivore that I should've put a sequence break, but I couldn't find one. I made a separate post too. I still have great respect for Radix's sda rules more than anything. I am just contributing this so more knowledge can be known.

nothin to apoligize about, even if your just joking around  :P

but actually, i wanna see a 21% run anyway, anyone know where its gunna be put up? SCU maybe?
I think flamy or sparky is working on one.  :)  That would be cool to see. It would save soo much time. What would happen when you're vs.ing DS3, she dissappears and you need echo to damge her. Hmm this could be a problem.
i dont think its much of a problem, since radix didnt use the visor at all in his fight with ds 3 & 4

.. and kip.

I'd recommend any good player have a crack at 21% for a challenge actually, there's no need to run it, and the secret world part really is easy to do compared to, say, the kip/solr WSA dash. Or beating Quadraxis.

I'm stuck on emperor ing on my 21% file with about 8 hours on the clock.
Easy compared to WSA? I was able to learn how to do the WSA dash consistently in about 30 minutes. Yet strangely, last night I spent 3 hours trying to get into Hive Gyro Chamber room from the secret world for my 21% game, and I never did. However, it was my first time in a secret world, so maybe the problem is just my inexperience with secret worlds.

Here is my problem: I keep getting stuck on the light door after I morph and fall. There have also been times that I have been able to access the room, but I am below the room when I do, so I can't get in.

Any help would be appreciated.

On a side note: Can this secret world be used effectively in an any% run?

Yea, because you can effectively skip the long battle with Dark Samus 2 and the tripto and back from the battle with this very simple SW trick. 30+secs to do the trick slickly, or spend several minutes going to and from the DS2 fight for JUST that one door? ;) :P
You've seen the video, right ?

You have to run past the light door so you fall into the space occupied by the room you're trying to get into. The explanation on the wiki is slightly misleading, in that it implies you have to roll off the end of the ceiling. In fact you need to walk past the edge of the ceiling for a few paces and then morph (you stay in the air even with nothing to walk on).

As for ending up below the room, well, you did it right most likely, but you just need to unmorph a fraction earlier.
Thanks for the help DJGrenola. :D

I understand it completely now. It is quite simple, but I wouldn't say it is easy compared to WSA.

Here was my problem: Not using the awesome guide on the wiki.  Embarassed

I'm now about to fight Quadraxis on my 21% Hard. Wait...on second thought...maybe later.
I know i already posted this in a different post, but it seems it would be better off here and easier for anyone who looks through this post for speed run ideas.  So here it is:

This isnt a big deal but it saves about 3 Jumps going around the tree in the Polluted Mire in Dark Torvus Bog.

Start jumping on the platforms like you would normally do until you get to the 5th one that faces the rock wall with a light beacon. If you look up you will notice another platform right above you on the tree. All you do is (facing the rock wall with the beacon) is stand at the back left of the platform, and do a ghetto jump backwards then space jump back and right towards the tree and it will lift you up to the next platform above you, saving you a couple of steps. Make sure you are not jumping back into the tree or else you wont be able to get high enough to make the second jump all the way up. Not a huge deal, but it seems much faster to me and saves a few seconds and pretty simple to do. Have fun, hope this is useful!
