Edit: 40 tricks recorded so far (7 since I submitted the zip file)
I'm going to be starting a new game and recording all the speed tricks I found in the 63 page topic, minus stuff that's on m2k2, that I remember from craz/xade's run, or I have a video of in a folder I keep. These tricks will be submitted to the m2k2 page so that it finally has a speed tricks section, not only because it's the only metroid game to be missing one (afaik), but to encourage runners by having a quick resource to find all they need versus digging through forums. A lot of work would be saved if xade and logitech submit their tricks, though I'm not depending on it or anything. And on a random note, this could also lead to an update to the wiki speed tricks section, which isn't very thorough IMO.
Warning: wall-o-text coming, I copy-pasted 23 pages of text from the super topic, and am editing it down to nothing as I perform + record the described tricks.
-----
Bryyo hangar bay
(one time-only)
----
Gel refinery ghetto jump
(super hard, can't get it yet)
----
Early mission expansion
in Security Station in the overhead pipe. Just Ghetto jump at it sideways using the small doorway projection and morph at the top. Sadly you cant get any higher than this if you follow the path backwards, unless someone can do something other than the tricks we know of currently.
(does this work?)

Don't feel like making a vid, but you can skip the Reptilicus Hunter fight in Grand Court by triggering the fight then BSJing back to the door, dumping the room, and coming back (the fight won't trigger a second time). I don't know whether the time saved from skipping the fight outweighs the time lost in skipping it, though.
(one-time only, doesn't seem to have time benefit even on hyper)

Hey kip! The jump is a bit tricky, I was luck to actually get it on my second try from when I started recording. in the video you'll see me walk from the far side of the room, you don't need to do this, but it helps light up the enemy. they like to run and stop within your view, which is why I look as close to the wall on the right as possible.
you'll also see that I'm going back and forth on the small slope of cie to make sure I'm in the right place, you want to be standing just before the slope starts. once the reptilicus hits you with the whip, just press jump and JAM backward while holding Z. this allows you to move while wasily controling your facing direction. you need to pull backward so you don't hit your head on the icicle which continues up the right side of the wall.
(ghetto jump in gel refinery advice)
Kip, I looked at my video a bit closer and realized the jump that made it had me standing on the ice!
So, the slope IS the ice itself, walk around all over that I ce base to get a feel for where the biggest thrust point will be.
as for the pushback, you'll want to hold Z the entire time. and hit jump the instant you get the pushback, but the space jump mus be well timmed. you also need to hold down on the stick until the space jump, then push forward and to the right like in my vid.
The whip is funny. sometimes its a TON of thrust, sometimes its none. I find that actually moving at the time of the impact samus gets less speed, its best to stand still. pirates give the best thrust by far as all you need to do is walk into them and get slammed back a good distance.

Hall of the Golems missle expansion speed trick. About 2 or 3 seconds faster than dphanna's method. After this, do everything dphanna did in his vid.
(Logitech. He took his down, though dphanna's trick is VERY hard to pull off, since it's like 5 tricks in one).
----
Zipline station delta
Scan the far away door, then use scan jump + SA to skip 2 platforms.
(can't get it yet)
----
SW10 + implications (1HKO on Rundas, for instance)
----
Elysia grapple trick (don't lower one of the grapple blocking thingies, in craz's run. Also one-time deal)
----
Gateway rolling jumps + scan dashes
---
norion tricks, such as ridley skip (possibly one-timer)
