The reason I like to do Kraid before Power Grip because when I go to get the Power Grip I have the speed booster and therefore can get Super Missiles straight away.

Beat the game last night in 48:58 doing Kraid before Power Grip.

From the top of the elevator room in Kraid, third door down to the left, it's possible to HBJ to the zipline from the door and I believe it's faster than waiting for the space jump. That is, if pulled off on the first try.

I have a VMV file of the trick, but I need a place to upload the zip file.

Really? Space Jump, huh? That would make it a LOT easier!

And there's a vid of the HBJing on this site. That's where that is. It's tough as a mother fucker to do, though.

I'm not talking about skipping the acid worm. I was talking about getting the missile tank the next door down, and HBJing from the door instead of waiting to get the space jump before getting the missile tank.

Question You need space jump to get that? Do you mean the one where you blast the red orb and bomb jump onto the zipline? I thought you could jump up from the bottom. Maybe i'm thinking of the wrong one though....

Yes, that's what I'm talking about. RS waited until she got space jump before getting it, but you can get to the zip line by bomb jumping from the door...

The thing is, though, that it's much faster to get it when you have High-Jump, cause you can just jump, and also faster because you don't ever really go down there the first time you go into Kraid, but when you come back later you go right past the door.
