Speed Run Times

Me and my friend are gonna compete with speed runs. Whoever gets the fastest time wins. Now, we can't get any help, but I just wanted to compare my times. So yeah, right now, I'm saved at Sector 1 with 5 min. Is that good or have people gotten there in 3 before or something like that? BTW, I suck at all 2D Metroid games (I'm just bad at Prime).

Well, I was one of them to get 3 Minutes and go to sector 1. But still, 5 minutes isn't that bad! Keep trying. You should make a copy of the file and compete agaist it. It could help you out!

I'd make a copy but one of them is the guy who I'm loaning the game from's file, so can't delete that. Other one is my completed file...which I really don't wanna delete, though I might. And if I were actually trying for a sub 1:20 time (not to mention if I had a Game Boy Player), I might record it...

Ok, I got to the save point before Eyeguy with :09 on the clock. I copyed a file into this spot, then started it over, but the Metroid next it still remained, so I can check my time and item collection on the pause screen. I have 2 energy tanks, 3 missile tanks, and of course no power bombs.

EDIT: Beat Eyeguy, cleared stabilizers, saved at :11.

Well...I beat Serris with...:33 on the clock. Ugh...I know this is crappy but I wanna not use hints or tips so...ugh...so annoying...

Think you can do the space boosting from sess's run? Or are you just gonna shinespark all the way to that one room in arc?

P.S: I've had worse. I wanted a less than 2 hour ending (I did get it) but 2 hours and 100% is just not gonna be possible for me

Wow I usually get to the EyeGuy at 12 minutes... Though I beat Serris yesterday @ 19 :)

Edit: I'm very pleased to annouce my new 100% time :) 1:32! 4 minutes better than my last run. Only 17 minutes left to get near Dawgs :D

yesterday I just finished another run. 1:23 24%. I am going for another any % run. I think I can take off another like 5 for not getting any upgrades.

Well...good news, but I gotta say the bad news first so...

I was playing Fusion, then somebody ripped the game pak out. When I put it back in, all the data was erased! NOOOOO! So, I had to restart my crappy speed run. And now I'm at Nightmare with a time of 1:29. I think that's a pretty decent time considering my skill. So, could anyone tell me Nate's or anyone else's time for this point? Wanna just see what I might end up with...

I had 00:58 at the savepoint at the beginning of sector 5 (not at the save right before nightmare).
You can finish the game under 2 hours, but you have to be as fast as possible.

That's funny. BTW, me=100% @ 1:44, 1% @ 1:18, and any% @ 1:15. I think I can get under an hour with Sess's techniques.

And right now I'm two save points before Ridley, time of 1:50. The after Nightmare segement killed me cause I had about 50 energy, so I had to be really careful. Oh well...I guess I'll have to try for sub-2 hours next time...

I am working on another one I have 23 mins at the pyr. I had gotten to sector 1 with 4 mins.

I'm doing 2 speed runs right now, both are 1%. One is right after Yakuza with 39 minutes on the clock (I allow lots of mistakes on this one), and the other is immediately after the Giant Plant at 11 minutes. I'm working much harder on the second one, though it could take a while to finish...

I can get their with about 36 minutes. Well, at the save point at the beginning of the sector. I never save before Nightmare.

I'd settle for a Digital Camera capturing a GBASP in action if that's what it would take to see a ~1:15 run :) It would mean a lousy screener but I can live with that as long as I could see it.
