If you are really quick with pressing L and R I'm fairly sure that you can pass the bridge without either running or jumping. Maybe the frequency needed is to great to be doable in realtime though...
Another solution might be to try and find some button combination that would enable Samus to move faster than her usual walking pace, similar to that of the 'run' button in the Mario games.
Not sure if this is possible within a Metroid environment, though.

Running, in a metroid game!? I laugh at your absurdities.
That was actually brought up earlier in another thread and we discussed the matter, IIRC the conclusion was that it would be impossible due to one or two obstacles (the main one I remember is that you can't get the icebeam without running, and you need icebeam to get to botwoon without speedbooster).
Completely useless, you mean. I am fairly certain it was posted for LOLs only.
Yeah, first I`ve written "completely", but then I remembered that I`m not a speedrun guy at all and should maybe use a not so "absolute" sounding formulation. Because around m2k2, you never know. ;)
Yeah, I know what you mean. Even if you think you knew it, somebody will corerct you.
Regarding the no-run run, I guess you might be able to with a TAS, since you could arm-pump, or you could allow runing for just that one instance. Regarding the Ice Beam problem, though, can you not enter from the other side via the long ramp above Crocomire, and up through the tall room with the crumble ledges and hidden missile in the top of the left-hand wall? That way you'd be able to Power Bomb through the floor on the other side of the gates? I presume there's a reason, but can't test at work. The most obvious reason I can think of would be the blocks on the ramp being speed blocks, but I haven't ever looked, to be honest.

Yep, that way through crocmires area is hindered by speedblocks. And armumping would not make you fast enough. But if you allowed running in that one place then it should be possible to do that kind of a run.

You can x-ray climb out of crocomire's room bypass the speed blocks.
Yeah that could be possible... I don't think it matters that it uses the run button, as long as you don't use the button to run it's ok. But the run itself is of course stupid anyway. There are only a few real obstacles in there, so what you'd be watching is a much much slower version of a normal run with a few quirks here and there.
Hmm, to get the X-Ray Scope without running you`ll need grapple, don`t you? How to get grapple without running? Could you simply use the natural escape route out of the grapple room? Green gate glitch should be possible, but I don`t think you can make it across/through the water pits.
