During the escape from the Mother Ship, there's one room with a long morphball corridor across the bottom that you have to bomb your way through one square at a time (or two, if you have the wave beam). It's the room where the Speed Tricks video 'escape shortcut' starts. We all on the same page? Good.

Right at the end of the bomb corridor is a space pirate. He starts by crawling into the tube, and then, if you don't let him get to you, he turns around and leaves, only to spin around and shoot you the moment you get out. Is there any way to avoid this pirate? I'm looking for a solution that can be done on a 15% run, so no powerbombs or wave beam.

Uhh, I suppose you could lure him and set a few bombs loose while he's getting at you to blow him up... :?

to survive through it, you should go close to him so he starts to crawl in, then move back and he will turn around and go back out, quickly get out and shoot him.

I always get there, wait a second, let him turn around again, then I blast the block away and wait until he's out, and roll out, unmorph, then blast a lot. Should work.

In my 15% run I just rolled through him, you don't take significant damage anyway, and you don't need much health either if you do the black pirate trick.

On Hard, that non-significant damage is 2/3 of your life. Then again, that's what I did, too.

After he crawls to the block, he turns around and leaves, then he walks toward the door before turning around. It is possible that you are one block away from him when he turns around, then you are able to come up behind him and shoot him once he gets a few steps away.

If you move back after blasting the last block, he will crawl in, and you can bomb him.

Just do what I do in my vid, let him touch the last block, then he'll turn around, as soon as he turns around and is about to get out, bomb it, roll barely out of the hole, get up and shoot him at a crouch.
