The Gloves were real nice against The Shadows of Yarnham. Could focus down one at a time nicely, they were pretty annoying one my first run trying to separate the two melee guys out. Augur has been a soild "fuck off" button.

I like this game a lot better when ranged attacks are a thing, but, like, getting to the point where you have them takes a fair amount of effort and knowing mechanics that there's no way it's a viable plan for a first run. Which is unfortunate because it does feel a lot better to me just having Augur.
what do those mythical "gloves" even do?

I haven't played nearly enough bloodborne it seems

One shall stand, one shall ball.
It fires three slow-ish homing projectiles that track dodges to the side shockingly well, better than the homing fireballs the Shadows throw at you lol. Hits pretty dang hard if all three hit. Costs three(?) bullets, though, as a trade off, and you need to have some distance between you and the target to get all three to land.

You also have to run through pretty much all of Cainhusrt to get the item, which isn't too hard but can be A Thing when you don't have a lot of VIT.

Addendum: Fucking obliterates Amygdala lol.
anyone else been shoved off the bridge after stabbing the minotaur from above?4
One shall stand, one shall ball.
I always ended up just like right under him after the plunging attack.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Yahargul is still awful.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Also, got Moonlight Sword, brought it up to par with Ludwig's. So the primary mission of this run is complete.
lol yeah but now it kinda feels like a stre or dex run
holy shit the switch remaster online is fucking dead

I bwt it's easier to get summoned on ps3
i wonder if the matchmaking is region locked based on game copies.

Beast Roar is a fucking godsend for dealing with Hunters. You can stun lock them pretty good and put up with less of their bullshit. I wish this game was more consistent with enemy stagger, though, most of the time you can get two swings in but some Hunters just dodge out after the first somehow, and the Beast Cutter guys in the DLC and the Cane guys in Cathedral Ward just fucking tank every hit and hit you anyway and it makes no sense in either case how it happened.

Yeah I also used Beast Roar against NPC hunters, it works wonders

I'm almost down to Blighttown. So far I've had no issues with the Switch version of Dark Souls.

It's interesting how many small differences there are in the english translation. Darkroot Basin is really just "Blackwood Garden" in japanese, and the gaping dragon is called "Voracious Dragon"

Nightmare of Mensis remains a miserable shithole which offends me on deep spiritual level by its very existence. What a piece of shit.

Micolash is a miserable little shit who wastes my fucking time and won't shut the fuck up. At least you can cheese his second phase from a distance so you don't have to put up with being randomly one shot by Call Beyond.
Blighttown on the Switch is great. stable framerate and it's dark as fuck
All I remember of Nightmare of Mensis is that I used to run past everything in the outside area. Usually worked very well
One shall stand, one shall ball.
That is literally your only option, but if you're not perfect you get slapped by the shitty beast men for like half your HP because they will straight up chase you all the way to the building while those giants throw rocks at you. It fucking blows.

I did end up getting the Ornstein soul next time using a Chaos Gargoyle Halberd +5.  Even that took forever.

Some weird little changes on the 3rd and 4th NG's, or am I going crazy?  For example, there's a new hunter in the forest beyond the artorias gate.  Some guy with a big sword who runs really fast.  He wasn't there before, unless I'm just going senile.

I also don't understand how I am able to screw up the Darkwraith thing each time.  I can get the other snake to appear in the abyss, but when I came back to give him humanity and get my Dark Set, he just cursed at me and disappeared.  He never came back.  Later I looked on the wiki and it said that if you were a member of the princess covenant then it makes him disappear, so I thought that I must have been in that covenant.  I wasn't sure.
So then on the next playthrough, I got my ass kicked by the four kings a million times, but I eventually killed them.  The dark snake appears, I talk to him and all, then leave.  I made sure that I wasn't in the princess covenant later at that time, and later on in the game when I warped back to the abyss to give him humanity - and the fucker bitches me out again and leaves for good AGAIN!  I have no idea why, but I think it's a little harsh to make him leave for the rest of the playthrough without giving any clue as to why.  I'm not going to be able to kill four kings on the next playthrough because things are getting pretty tough.

Are you placing the Lordvessel before going back to Kaathe? Placing the vessel without him taking you there to do it will piss him off, too.

The one time I did the Darkwraith thing I'm pretty sure I just didn't talk to Frampt at all just to be sure because who really knows at what point Kaathe fucks off.
That's it.  I watched a video showing the whole process.  I thought that the only time you needed to worry about the lordvessel is that you had to make sure you didn't place the lordvessel before killing 4 kings.  I thought that would make kaathe appear in the abyss and that was that.  I had no idea that there was more.

I'm not sure I'm going to try again.  I've already platinumed the game and got every weapon and armor, except dark set.  I really wish DS1 let you respec your stats, otherwise you'll never get to use the high faith or int stuff unless you set out from the beginning as a faith or int build.

I've already platinumed DS3 too but I'm thinking about starting over with a fresh file.
Fuck I'm stuck with the constant auto save glitch
how's that work?
Looking at gamefaqs, others got the glitch when they fought an NPC and didn't kill them. Absolving sins fixes it in that case.

That's not it for me now. My guess it's because I encountered a non respawning monster that I didn't kill.

Basically the game just keeps auto saving without pause. On PS3 this could brick consoles by overheating from the constantly spinning HDD. No idea if it's dangerous on Switch...
lol it was because of my timezone's switch to winter time. switching to a timezone without it fixed the issue............
I decided to start a new DS3 character and make it a woman this time.

I wanted to kind of mix things up and try things I haven't tried.  I've never gone full mage but that just doesn't seem like it would be fun.  I decided to go for pyro.
Starting out as pyro was weird because I just felt like I was way weak with melee.  I tended to want to melee all the time even though that's not where my strength is.  I've never used pyromancy more than a melee weapon, and it definitely took some getting used to.  You really have to think about attacking while your enemy is far away, and I'm used to wanting the enemy close.

I started that whole dark sigil questline, and I have to say I really hate everything about that part of the game. I just can't make any sense of it.  I've done the Lord of Hollows ending once, and it took so many playthroughs to get it because I would always mess up the quest somehow.  The guides give unclear instructions, and contradict each other too.  I decided that the stress of worrying about fucking it up was ruining my whole experience, so I just attacked Yuria thinking she would just go down screaming like every other NPC.  What I didn't think about was the fact that every other time I've killed an NPC, I was at a higher level.  She fucking shreds me effortlessly!  I hoped she would go away when I used the bonfire, but she just stays in the shrine, aggroed and ready to one-hit me.  I was afraid to leave the shrine because I thought she would end up killing other NPC's, so I just decided to keep trying to kill her.  Pyromancy is ineffective on her because she's too fast, and the only other weapons I had that I could actually use were so weak that they barely made a scratch.  Whenever I did manage to chip away at her until her health was half way, she drinks estus!  She has at least 4 estus, that bitch.  It took me a bajillion attempts but I finally killed her.  Attacking her was a major mistake.
