Maybe we actually visit the place the Painted World is a painting of

Maybe.  I assumed it didn't actually exist outside the painting.  Is there lore stating that it's real?
No, and we don't know much about Ariamis either. Priscilla just mentions him once.
No idea, it could be in Irithyll I guess. Maybe the painted world was actually you traveling to the future!!
I don't think that's the case, given that Aldrich ate Priscilla prior to the events of DS3, and he knew enough about Yorshka's powers to have her imprisoned and watched over by Sulyvahn.
Well time is distorted in Soulsland so let's do it anyway
I miss the good old days of just having to seal up an ancient eldritch abomination that farts out fog and demons. Those were simpler times.
Yeah so....Flamelurker.  Yesterday I played for hours without dying and today I get to flamelurker and it's like the hardest thing ever.  The last time (and only time) I ever fought him, I killed him on my first try.  This time it seems impossible.  Even my most powerful weapon hardly does a thing.  Not sure what the difference is between the last time and this time, but it's definitely much much harder now.

I've had that experience a lot too. Depending on how you play these games some parts can suddenly be really easy or really tough. The way you approrach dodge/shield management can also play a huge role.
He's weak to magic.  The second I used magic it was easy as hell
That goes for all of DeS, to the point where I wouldn't use it if you want to have fun
I just bought the DS3 DLC. Anyone else? Is it even out internationally?
Ok nevermind... there was a patch and the season pass store page didn't list a release date so I thought it was already out.
It was "accidentally" released early on Xbox again, but it's not supposed to be out until the 25th
Oh, that's why I've seen so many threads about it.
Well that was delightful. We got our very first
3-phase
boss!

Can't wait for to be back from work today \o/
Played the DLC up to the bonfire in that rotten village. Didn't take note of the place's name though.

So far I'm not very impressed. The whole place is mostly grey and white, makes it really hard to see somehow. At least for me looking around that place strains my eyes.

Then the whole area comes off as super uninspired, enemies included. Still it's not bad, but the DSII DLC set the bar pretty high so it's just not up to my expectations I guess.
I played DS I and II after all the DLC was already released, so I could just go straight into the DLC on my first playthrough.  But with DS3, I feel weird picking it up because I don't remember shit about the game at this point.  I kind of wonder if I need to just start over from the beginning.
Just use your first-playthrough character
yeah but I don't remember the locations, the weapons, how to play.  I feel like it was so long ago.  Maybe it will come back to me.
Well, you don't need to remember old locations to play the new locations. And it plays like every Souls game. You can't have forgotten how to play Souls games in general, right?
I felt a little lost too when I started playing. I'd say just go for it, you'll get back into it quickly.

I've forgotten a ton of stuff.  I look through my inventory and don't even recognize my stuff or remember what it does.  I couldn't figure out how to equip things in different hands, or how the equip load stats work or where to find them.  Also can't remember how to use bow properly.  It really feels like I haven't played the game in 10 years even though it's been a few months.
Oh and I forgot that you could run
