Dood Trigger™
For the *weapons* Trophy, you need them all in one file. For the *spells* Trophies, each spell Trophy can be acquired separately as long as you have all the spells from that category in the same file (all miracles in one file, all pyromancies in another file, etc.).

Serris, if you have the stats to use literally everything in the game, then it's not a build for anything. Opium is the one saying she wants this guy to be a melee build.
There's no point in sticking to a "build" outside multiplayer. She already has all the stats she needs to melee anything. If you stick with builds because you just like builds, that's a different matter.

She was concerned about getting stuff she can't use, but you don't need to be able to use them for the trophy, so it doesn't really mater.
Dood Trigger™
And again, I know that. She was using the term and I was warning her about blowing up her SL. That's all. She's been reading about the game a lot, I had no way of knowing if she absolutely never wanted to make this a serious build (until she said it just now I guess).
I'm just clarifying that when you said you "ruined" your character, it's meant in a context that is of no concern for Opium because she doesn't know that.
Dood Trigger™
Opium was under the impression that going into NG+ would allow her to try different builds, implying doing one play style at a time. She was also worried about picking up items for Trophies that aren't part of her melee build, which includes spells, which requires leveling up stats she's not using. Meta isn't a concern for her, but apparently the build is, so I was answering in that context.

If she wants this to be a melee build, it's not going to be one anymore if she levels up everything else. That's all I said, regardless of whether or not building in PvE is pointless.
Dood Trigger™
But it is true that her character won't be necessarily ruined like mine was
I'm assuming build means playstyle here, so that might be the confusion.
Dood Trigger™
That makes perfect sense actually. I was probably reading too much into the term

Thanks all

I wasn't thinking about how the trophy is held on the gamertag level, not in the save file.  It is only earned on the save file.
So what's the deal with the petrified guy near the crystal cave bonfire?  Any significance?
If you're online they appear where people in their world got cursed. I don't remember any offline statues.
I'm definitely not online.  Maybe he's there regardless like some of the messages are.
It might be you from when you died to Seathe, but I don't think they last that long.
hmmm...I did die just once and I was cursed.  Interesting.
So what's the fastest way to return to Vamos?  The other smiths are located near bonfires and easily reached, but I can't think of an easy way to reach Vamos.

Do the drop shown at 38:25, then just run through the Bonewheel pit to the shortcut he unlocked when you first met him.

Wow thanks.  I was wondering how to get to that corpse, too.
If you savequit and resume after you run into Vamos's room, it will reset the enemies, so you don't have to bother killing them. They will follow you inside otherwise.

$130 for a collector's edition GUIDE.  It doesn't even come with the game.  That's nuts!
The Bloodborne guide was very well-made by someone who really goes into the mechanics, but there's still no point in getting them because it's all gonna end up on the wiki and it can't be updated. Three patches later half the info might be obsolete.
I might just be old, but I really do prefer having a book in my hands.
Same here, but unfortunately the medium is unrelated to the usefulness of the content. The Bloodborne guide at least is still full of pretty pics, diagrams and stuff that won't be outdated some day, and they're just nice to have. Still have a stack of N64 era guides when they were actually useful. Don't know anyhing about the DS3 one though.
I agree, they're more than just sources of info.  I've bought guides for games that I already know everything about, I just like having the guide because it makes me fan-swoon.

Still,  $130?!  Wiki it is then
Found elevator near the cat in chasm of the abyss.  Am I correct that it will take up twice, but only down once, making it impossible to use it to get back down to the chasm?!  Is there a way to control this thing?
Apparently so.  Had to go all the way back around.  That really sucks.  It's not a shortcut, it's a trap.
