One shall stand, one shall ball.
For real I spent like half an hour trying to figure out what gloves to wear and about as long on the pants.

Dark Souls 2 is fantastic for Fashion Souls. This is actually the second character I made, I ran into Lucatiel with my first one and was all I GOTTA MAKE A CHARACTER TO ROCK THAT ARMOR RIGHT NOW! Also I legit love the Infantry Helm and I can't fully explain why.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
God, there's really nothing in video games like beating a Souls game for the first time. Even if the final bosses don't tend to be that tough getting there is such a satisfying ride that winning just feels so good.
Good job!
Hope you knew that the various king crowns make you immune to hollowing after you finish the DLC quest. Might've been useful for the Darklurker grind. Any non-DLC bosses you skipped?
Oh yeah. Don't miss the super awesome but elusive extra cutscene for checking the king's equipment in the crypt that you unlock by clearing all DLCs.
The ending where you leave through the Throne of Want's fogwall actually only makes sense if you finish the DLC quest, but for some reason they forgot to gate the Aldia fight behind the DLC quest when they added him.
Man I don't remember anything at all about the story stuff that was added in the DLC and SOTFS. Apart from Aldia's appearance that is.
One shall stand, one shall ball.

Oh, do they all do that after you kill Vendrick? I just popped his crown on for Nashandra thinking it was the only one that got the bonus. Also, yeah pretty mad at myself for dealing with Vendrick after Draklurker. Hindsight's a real fucker.

I skipped the Ancient Dragon, I sort of kept forgetting about him. Also wasn't super stoked to fight a dragon after the DLC one. It's just a Giant Soul so I'm not too broken up about poking into NG+ without killing him. That's the only one I can think of.
Well the original DS2 ending was both the Darklord and Firelink ending of DS1 combined because we learned it doesn't actually matter what you do as far as the cycle is concerned. After you become an immortal human that doesn't hollow you can choose to just leave and do whatever you want because you now exist outside of the cycle. Leave it to the DS3 guy!

Ancient Dragon has great presentation (an even biggererer dragon? sign me up) but it's not that fun to figure him out (though you can stack enough resist to survive the fire), and after you know what to do he's trivial.

And yeah all four crowns get the hollow immunity effect if you bring them into Vendrick's memory, but Vendrick's and Sunken are pretty much the best as far as stats go.

Unfortunately you can only get that guy's armor if you kill Fatty first.

That really stinks :(

Xanthous armor is a Demon's Souls reference. Find out more!

I went to both wikis and didn't find anything about the reference.  They both really suck about the armor because they don't tell you anything the game doesn't tell you, and they make my biggest gripe about the game even worse by not comparing the armors.  The numbers are meaningless unless you can compare them to other armors, and the game only lets you do this against the one you're wearing.  The wikis don't compare numbers at all.  You have to remember the numbers of a set in your head and then look at other armors.  My brain is getting too old to do that.  It would be nice if there was a spreadsheet or similar table that compared all the armor.

The 3-3 boss in Demon's Souls wears that head thing. You can be summoned to play as the boss, and if you kill the opponent, you get to keep the hat.

I could write a script...................................

don't really have the time for it though because i'd rather play the game
The more you play the less you care about the stats anways.
I've mostly been wearing my elite knight set +9.  It seems to be pretty well rounded.  I'd like to play around with other sets a little, but when I see one that's strong in one area it tends to have a drawback to it.  I guess if I get strong enough then the drawbacks won't matter so much.

I picked up a really cool whip yesterday.  I need to play around with it.

I don't normally use heavy armor in these games 'cause it makes stamina regen super slow. That said, in DkS2 I like wearing the Fume Knight helm + chest with King's Gauntlets and Alonne Knight legs. Looks pretty sweet :)

But when I need to be mobile I go Shadow chest, black leather pants and one of the hood helms that I can't recall. This game has some awesome looking armors. Too bad my character's face looks so weird. I just didn't think about the design, wanted to jump straight to the game, and that first file ended up being my main file all this time

Well by find out more I just meant play more of DeS to see where it comes from. :>

And yeah just like weapons there's very little in the way of equipment that totally outclasses other equipment. Some weapons do less damage but have great movesets, some armor has better status resists than straight up defense, or is worse overall but also weighs a lot less. The better you get the less you have to rely on stats, so you can play naked for best maneuverability or just wear what looks good. That's the spirit of Fashion Souls.

As for Souls 1... I'm all about Shadow and Artorias
I wear the gargoyle helm a lot and was hoping there were other pieces to the set but I guess not.
no, it's a single piece without an accompanying set
I've used the stone armor a little bit.  Haven't even tried on the Havel armor, way too heavy.  Haven't tried to 'tank' in the game because it seems like it would be infuriating to move so slowly.
There's a few occasions where being able to tank with lots of poise (= no attack interruption) can be useful depending on your palystyle. It's certainly no requirement. I used to care a about tankability like that in my earlier playthroughs. These days I try to avoid getting it in the first place
How's your progress besides Asylum and Ariamis? Did you beat the Lost Izalith boss? Got any more Lord Souls?

No I left Izalith.  I also went into tomb of giants far enough to get effigy shield (useless to me) and covetous silver ring but then left.  Next I'm heading for Hydra, which I probably should have done a long time ago.

It's weird how many large titanite shards you need.  Are you really supposed to farm for them THIS much?  It takes a long time to get 99 of them and then they're gone pretty fast.  The small shards are easy to get now because I can turn green shards into them.

I also have some demon and twinkling titanite but seems so rare that I'm afraid to use it.

Have 80 titanite chunks.

I just buy regular and large shards from the giant blacksmith at Anor Londo. By now you should have a lot of cash after beating bosses anyway.

Chunks are the ones you need to farm a good amount of if you want to upgrade all that stuff. There's a good farming spot for those but it's near the end.

Every major upgrade (like +1 to +5, or +6 to +10) spends 8 or 9 of whatever type of stone they require IIRC. And then a slab as the very final upgrade. Those are super rare.
Yeah but they're quite expensive when you consider how many you need.
