You can still warp to extinguished bonfires, you just can't warp from them.
ok.  And it's really close to darkmoon bonfire anyway.

Man, I have so many good weapons now that I don't know which ones to use.  Fire flamberge, lightning uchigatana, etc etc.  Loving great scythe too.
One shall stand, one shall ball.

I went back there and equipped it, but wasn't sure if I noticed any difference at all so I left.
And it turns out those 2 fog doors were the same fog door viewed from two different sides lol.

You have to treat it like a shield, if you're holding it up it lights areas up. Alternatively boost your INT for Cast Light and don't worry about it.
With your massive amount of stats, all the elemental weapons will be much worse than standard path weapons with at least decent scaling.

Also in case you didn't notice, the Rite of Kindling allows you to kindle bonfires two more times for a maximum of 20 Estus.

ooh I didn't notice that.  I just kindled one bonfire and got 15, thought that was the max.

Also, the fire soul I got from killing that person at the anor londo bonfire - is it safe to use it to upgrade estus?  I know I had to hold onto the last one I got from killing a keeper of a bonfire.

I don't know why that lady got so angry when I stepped into her chamber.  I did strengthen the convenant with an offering of an ear first.  What a bitch.

And yeah I noticed the difference from the elemental weapons and the regular path.  Definitely keeping most weapons on the +10 path with plans to go higher.
Don't worry about the covenant, it's just another grind for PvP stuff and some spells you can't use. If you want to piss him (he's a guy raised as a girl) off even more before you kill him, go plant an arrow in Gwynevere and reveal the secret behind Anor Londo.

And yeah, give the Firekeeper soul to the Firelink Firekeeper (assuming you revived her), the lady you got it from is gone for good.

So I think I figured out my problem on Fume Knight, it's like the hit box on his attacks seem to be wide enough that they hit me just before the attack actually appears to connect. It's the only way to explain why my dude just stand there and gets whacked instead of rolling when I very clearly have the button pressed.
Did the tanking not work out? I've never noticed a hitbox discrepancy compared to the usual Souls standard. Do you have 20-32 ADP to get at least DS1 levels of i-frames?
One shall stand, one shall ball.
I never even really tried tanking his second form lol, if this was DS1 I would be shield stability just doesn't go far enough in this one for me to risk taking a hit from that sword. Especially with the fire/magic/whatever damage.

Adaptability is fine but shouldn't come into play since when he catches me it's at the very start of the dodge where you always have i-frames. The few times I did catch an attack with my shield I definitely felt the attack landing before it appeared to.

Anyway I did get him like three runs after that post which shows that complaining is always the best medicine, I just had to start my dodge before it looked like I should have. I'll own plenty of botched dodges, because I've admitted to being bad at it, and maybe this is in part me being unused to primarily dodging for defense. I mean hitboxes are tricky so I'm not gonna get all riled up about it, it wasn't awful juts not where I thought it'd be. I'm pretty bad at judging Gwyn's hitboxes too so it could also be a flaming sword thing.

Now I'm off to go lose to Sir Alonne for the next month and a half!

Oh, you were talking about his second form. Yeah, the fire makes the sword's hitbox massive and residual.

Eh, Alonne is a much different fight, you'll be fine. If you kill him without taking damage he gets a seppuku death animation, just go for it!
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Alonne is a way better fight but the run up is horseshit. Getting back to him takes far longer than it takes him to kill me.

Also anyone beating him without getting hit is obviously cheating.
The run up is pretty consistent, just gotta roll through all the charge slashing knights and break line of sight with the snipers as you approach. They don't follow you all the way to the fogwall so only the snipers can hit you there, and it's not a problem if you go in right away.

All of the DaS II DLCs have these weird challenge areas that are pretty much designed to be played in co op mode. And the Iron King DlC for some reason has two of them... of which the Alonne area part if by far the easier one lol!

I realize you can run by them but it still takes too long.
Yeah. And Alonne totally fucks you up if you don't pay attention for even a moment...
There's many Souls bosses with longer run ups, and the good news is that Horsefuck Valley will make you love all of them including this one. The bad news is Horsefuck Valley.
Yeah I can't wait to hear his impressions on that place haha
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Also I really hope in Dark Souls 3 they figure out how to do grab hitboxes or scrap the mall together, cause between Alonne and Iron Golem gettig grabbed by a dude that didn't touch you gets old!

Dawg I ain't touching the challenge zones. Fuuuuuuuck that.

Other bosses have longer run ups but those bosses don't require the practice Alonne seems to. I mean if Nito was actually hard his run up would be god awful. Also the none of the others require a loading screen. >:(
Well, DS3 runs on the Bloodborne engine, and Bloodborne has some of the most hilariously broken grab hitboxes, so ... let's keep on hoping!

Got him! Sir Alonne is v good boss.

laffo well alright then!
This went better than expected

Also, shieldless Sen's was the worst. <_<
Got the butterfly horn. This thing's awesome. Lots of range, quick attacks and good damage. It let me cut the silver knights like butter.

I recorded my O&S fight, which was awful. It's going to take a few hours to upload though.
No sound?

Not gonna lie, I was really hoping the gesture at the end would throw you off the side.
