Congrats!
Beat Artorias on my third attempt today. That fight was quite intense! Went to World of Ariamis right after. The skeleton wheel's were a damn nightmare, but it somehow made it through. Priscilla was surprisingly easy. I managed to spot her footprints before she got a chance to attack me and had her down in seconds. The last time I fought her, I blocked a lot of her attacks w/ my shield. Good thing I didn't need one this time.
Jesus, Manus wrecked my shit just now. Hopefuly I'll be able to fight him properly next time. I think I lost to him at least 6 or 7 times. Never had this much trouble with a Souls boss before I think.

wtf :|
One shall stand, one shall ball.
I can't even imagine fighting him without a shield, dude's got crazy hp so a little room for error goes a long way.
It wasn't that bad. He want down on my second try today. And even the first one went really well, where I had Manus down to about 30% of health. I died when he casted the magic that spawns dark orbs all around you twice in a row. But normally that easily avoidable with the silver pendant. Should have used it, but didn't because I worry to much about screwing up the timing since I never ever use the item outside of that fight.

For the second attempt I upgraded my armor somewhat, and put on some gloves and headwear. Doing that saved my life, because I was really hasty for the last hit and kept running into Manus spaming R1 lol I survived with like 3% health left
I beat Kalameet on my first attempt. Phew! The thing has sooo much HP, I never really noticed until now that I tried killing it asap.

Just cleared the run. Didn't beat Gwyn by myself though, I was impatient and just summoned some phantoms. Had him down to 50% on my first solo fight in ages though.
Oh wow. I went back to my Greatsword of Artorias wielding char in NG++. Died like a dozen times in Oolacile Township because I couldn't handle the slow attack speed of the greatsword anymore. Somehow or other I still made it to the Abyss section, noticed the bonfire there wasn't kindled at all and that I hadn't been down the catacombs yet. So I went there, all the way down to Nito. Things went super smooth unlike a while earlier in Oolacile and I didn't die even once. Nito gave me the creeps though. It took forever taking him down, and I couldn't help feeling like I might aggro the large skeletons from the back of the room anytime.

Thank god that didn't happen.
When you're not going for the tail, Seath is still a joke even if you don't beat him in like 2 seconds. What were they thinking with this boss <_<
One shall stand, one shall ball.
You should be going for the tail anyway because CHALLENGE MODE!
Ng++ Manus was enough of a challenge for this run I'd say. Even with a shield I ran out of Estus and barely prevailed :/

Oh god, I didn't know the four kings would just keep spawning, regardless of how many you kill

wtf
And then Gwyn made all previous challenges look like a walk in the park. I was -so- close to giving up, but then managed to beat him somehow. Somewhere between my dozen of tries I went and procured some stamina regenrating items. Eventually I beat him by turtleing and bating his grap, which seemed to be the only attack I could safely counter.

Few. Time to play s.t. else

Gwyn without a parrying shield is such a pain.

Nicely done!
I could have parried him with the shield I used, but avoided that tactic thinking I'd be too risky trying to learn the parry tming on NG++.

Can't decide on a new game to play, so it's time for shieldless-dex-NG+

Hopefully the evening's here will get darker soon. I want to play Silent Hill too. D:

Haha, nice. What SH are you thinking about playing?

Parry timing isn't too bad to learn. If he holds the sword with one hand, block the first swing and spam the parry before/while the second swing comes out. You will take some damage, which should be easy to reduce with fire defense. If he holds the sword with 2 hands, parry the first hit. It's pretty easy to get the hang of it.

Ok, thx, I'll remember that for the next time I fight him.

I plan on playing the first Silent Hill game. Maybe also the third or fourth. Haven't played those in a long time, but the problem is I only own the PAL versions of those games (3 and 4 I mean). My PAL PS2 tends do make an obnoxious sound that's particularly annoying when playing atmoospheric games like SH, so I've avoided playing those two games for a few years. SH2 I only played in early 2014 iirc, so I'm in no hurry to replay that one.

Although its been weeks since I last fought him, I just beat NG+ Artorias shieldess on my first try. The fight very smooth too. I barely had problems with taking my sips, easily avoided most of his attacks too. Just had to take safety sips all the time since I used the Chaos Blade (self-damage).

Phew. Now... Manus.. ugh ...

I skipped Manus and Kalameet to end this playthrough a bit quicker.

Gwyn was tough, again. As often as I tried, I never managed to hit the parry timing for any of his moves so I gave up on that and fought him the same way as before. Didn't think it would even work, since my dex character has a lot less max. stamina and stamina regeration than the Artorias build I used last time. But I won anyways, somehow. At first it looked like i might be in trouble because I couldn't stagger him with my low damage output, but then I realized I could abuse the dex weapon's quick attack speed to punish way more openings than with a great sword. I ended up chipping his health away with single slashes.

Today I learned that the Iron Golem can totally spike you into the that little strip of land Siegmeyer sits on and make you run all the way back there to recover them after you beat him and try to figure out where your bloodstain could be.
lol, what. You mean you beat him, and at the same time he did an attack that pushed you all the way to that spot with Siegmeyer?

Or did you reattempt the Golem before getting your bloodstain?
One shall stand, one shall ball.
I went to fight him again before getting the bloodstain. Because I thought it would be up on his platform like it is supposed to be. I was very confused when I when I went back through the fog door and did not see my souls anywhere.
Oh yeah, when you fall off somewhere your bloodstain's supposed to be at the spot you last stood on before falling.

Who knew the weakest boss of the game had such a power!
Jesus Christ, Matt. I know people people expected you to deliver after a six month break, but this is too much.

In other news, I went ahead and bought the PC version of Scholar of the First Sin today, thanks to a friend showing me a site where it was on sale. Holy crap does 60 FPS do the game justice. The combat feels so much smoother and refined than the PS3 version's. I also like how they changed up a lot of the enemy placement. It made going through some of those old areas of the game more rewarding. I've never played any of DS2's DLC stuff I'm hoping to get all of that out of the way in this play through.
