Ok, I see a best ending boss battle, but nothing like what I want to know. My question is: What Metroid series boss / miniboss battle is your absolute favorite? Anything resembling a boss batlle counts, even something like that first sidehopper that traps you in ZM after checking out the statues. Your reasoning can be based on atmosphere, difficulty, originality, hell, you can hate all metroid boss battles and find this one only marginally decent.

I'll keep track of the results, and when we've narrowed it down to five clear frontrunners, I'll make the poll. Ready? GO!

Meta-Ridley gets a head start. It's such a cool freaking battle.

Meta-Ridley is from prime isn't he? And Mecha is ZM? Correct me if I'm wrong.

MY favorite battle has to be...  Undecided...  I really don't like the boss battles..  I see them more as a distraction to what i truly love about metroid games...  The exploration...  So many things, so litt-well as much time as I need but hey you know what I mean..  If i had to pick ...  Kraid from super...  That's the only boss I actually look forward to beating...  Or i could say ..  Well I could say anything but i would also choose the SA-X from fusion because it has an unexpected twist!  I mean sure...  All you have to do is stand on the ground and charge wait for him to land then fire then jump over him/walk under him depending on what he does and fire again but that's what makes a boss battle good...  Random-ness..  Well crap, just screwed my opinion over...  Oh well Kraid from super i guess

Definately Meta Ridley. Without a doubt the most visually stunning and overwhelming boss. Additionally, the fight is so... right. His screams, his sounds, his melee moves. Retro did a really great job of converting what used to be a 2D boss to a 3D environment. Ridley really makes good use of all 3 dimensions.

The Giant worm on the way to the first missile tank was cool, almost better than the SA-X in surprise quality.

EDIT: Forgot to add that it was in ZM

I actually love the Parasite Queen's battle theme. That track is awesomely composed. Actually, if she wasn't a first boss and thus had to be extremely simple, she might've been on top of my list...

But as it is now.. I'm not sure, really... Either Mother Brain from SM, or Meta Ridley. MB's battle felt so... big and great. Meta Ridley was definitly a challenge at first. I love a challenge. Especially since it's Samus' old nemesis come back from the dead to get personal revenge...

Super Metroid Ridley. Easily the hardest Boss Battle I've ever fought. Meta-Ridley was a wuss in comparisson.

The Super Metroid takes 2nd place. You just can't beat it! It sucks you dry!

Ok, so far it seems Meta-ridley is the favorite, but super's MB has a lot of influence, as well. But, only 15 players' votes have been cast, so that means there are 316 (and rising) members who have yet to vote. It's still anyone's game, even Botwoon's.

Er, anyway, I'd have to go with Meta-Ridely. Roboblob had the idea in a different topic... he's a dragon. And a cyborg. That's like, an instant 15 on the coolness scale. He could be wearing braces and kneepads and still be cool.

^_^ I choose meta ridley .....I was play prime mainly  yesterday to get to him....sadly never got to him since I lend a friend my memory card and couldn't save when I had to go :(

Second Fav would be..Ridley for SM ^_^ Ridley Rules all :P
