cool, i'll watch 19 for sure then. the serialized format is what made me want to finally watch the show, so i'm totally down foranother season like that.
They started that with season 18, though that one was more "actual continuity between episodes" that all came together in the two-part season finale rather than one cohesive season-long story arc like 19 was and 20 is obviously going to be.
Edit: S20E03, holy fucking shit, this season is brilliance in every way.
Because I make bad decisions, I watched the second half of season six of ponies... and the latest EG movie. Episodes were mostly eh with at least one that was good for real and some kinda decent, movie was dumb and the climax felt like even more of a self-parody than the last one.
I'll give FiM one thing over AT and SU, though - it knows how to stick to a fucking schedule. Still waiting for that final episode of AT season 7, and for SU season 4 to... well... show any activity at all.
Speaking of AT, it's been announced that it's ending - in two seasons. Season 9 will be the final season of Adventure Time.
And speaking of bad decisions, four seasons with Mr. Garrison as president might be the only good thing to come from the catastrophically bad one that America did this week. This week's episode definitely hurt a bit from it as they were absolutely certain it was going to go the not stupid way so they had to change it on really short notice, but we'll see where this goes.
Yeah, it's a pretty dumb system. The system would be fine if the electoral votes for each state were actually split like the actual votes from the state rather than winner takes all, but...
But, I mean, it's not often you get to watch two supposedly first world countries commit suicide the same year, and both through voting to do so too.

You really think the presidential election is that bad? Jesus dude, didn't know you were insane lol
America elects a racist, misogynist idiot who doesn't know how anything works with a vice president who is actual, literal, 100% evil and I'm the insane one.
Well, I mean. This is the cartoon thread, and one of the currently airing cartoons is South Park, which currently has an ongoing plotline very much about the election. So it's sort of on topic.
Adventure Time has concluded. Finale aired last week.
Princess Bubblegum and Marceline is now officially a couple and I'm still not over that because it't not every day you get to see your same-sex OTP in a kid's show become actual canon, even if it took until the finale for it to happen. I didn't think they would do it, but they did, the absolute madmen.
And really, the fact that it could become canon is something that's so amazing, regardless what your opinion on the pairing is. Slowly but surely, same-sex relationships become more and more acceptable to portray in a positive light in kid's media. You had Korra, where it was pretty obvious but still had to be further confirmed by the creators afterwards. I hear Star vs. the Forces of Evil featured a same-sex kiss between secondary characters. Then we have Steven Universe, which has been gay as a whole parade since early on and featured the first same-sex kiss on the lips between main characters in a kid's show, although between two characters that had been established to be in a relationship since the first season and had kissed each other on the face but not the lips. And now Adventure Time had a big damn kiss making them an actual couple between two characters where you could see their relationship evolve throughout the show - from their frosty interaction the first time they were on screen together, progressing with hints that they had more of a history but had a fallout while still retaining feelings for each other (and an out-of-show confirmation that they had dated at some point in the past), becoming closer and closer to the point where PB showed more affection towards Marcy than she had ever done for anyone else, concluding with a tearful confession and a full-on, on-screen, on-the-lips kiss lasting several seconds. There was enough evidence for the pairing that it would have been less likely for them to not be in love, but it still felt like there always was that little bit of ambiguousness that they could just be really close friends. Not so anymore, now it's clear that they really had those kinds of feelings for each other since at the very least season 3. Marcy, for her part, made it pretty clear that even after their prior falling out, she has always, to some degree, remained in love with Bonnie.
All in all it feels like that's something you couldn't have gotten away with just a few years ago, in some countries you still can't get away with it at all. In some countries they made Ruby in SU a man, which given her absolute lack of any actual feminine features isn't much harder than just giving her a male voice actor, and I feel like putting her in the dress and the more feminine Sapphire in the tuxedo for their wedding was a bit of a middle finger to that kind of stuff. Cartoons are gay now, die angry about it
So now I'm just waiting for FiM to make Pinkie and Dashie an actual couple (though honestly that would be a pretty great lesson for that show to include but there's probably about a 0% chance for that to happen)
I could write more words about more parts about it but eh
There's going to be a continuation in comic format, they're calling it Season 11, even if the producer of the show thought that was a bit of a stretch since none of the show staff are involved in it, but since there's not going to be any more show to contradict any of the comics (as has happened with the prior comics making it impossible for the majority of them to be in canon with the show) and it has the entire show to base it on and there's an about 1000 year gap to fill in after the finale (you know what I mean if you've seen it), there's no reason it can't be canon. Plus I absolutely want to see more of what I talked about in the spoiler since there's no more episodes to do that in.
ok the dragon prince is pretty good so far. and i'm liking the animation. it's different and looks good, both of which are reasons why i like it. it'd be a perfect show to make avatars from since every frame looks great
is anyone else watching? i've only seen 2 episodes
