yeah kinda, X usually means mute

I think the noise in that track though is just the amp feeding back through the guitar strings, hendrix being the first to really bring that technique under control

it's actually something that's been lost a little bit in the modern era where people more commonly record in bedrooms using digital modelling through headphones instead of by miking up actual amplifiers

huh maybe i'm thinking of something else, you're right that is just normal palm muting

i know i've seen in tabs for like, rancid and other punky bands some symbol for the scratchy sound when you lightly touch the strings. maybe capital X vs lowercase?

hey all, still alive for the time being. Had to go to the ER for an infection and going back in next week. I almost OD'd on codeine last night so I'm just taking it easy for awhile and recovering. Pretty much content without being alive but I really don't care either way.


The new Eminem album is fucking fire though so I'm glad I got to experience that and not his abortion of a previous album.
