nah adding the octave in doesn't change the chord, it just makes it sound thicker

on piano people are more sticklerish for this sort of thing, but on the guitar I think it's just kind of accepted that your fingers can only go so far and so the chords are all a compromise

heh when I first tried to play I had to use my right hand to physically move the fingers of my left hand when changing chords

that's how bad my left hand motor skills were when I first tried to play

that's how bad my left hand motor skills were when I first tried to play

i've been doing hand/finger stretches before playing which helps a lot.. but yeah i had to do that kind of thing for the A shape... still trying to get that down

my fault, when I said the octave I was specifically talking about 1 -> 8

yeah I don't know what's going to happen politically, it's complicated

theresa may doesn't actually believe in brexit so she's trying to fudge the UK deal with the EU, which basically just involves doing whatever the EU tells her to

so it's not a negotiation, she's just trying to minimise any upset, and some percentage of the conservative party aren't happy about that

so there are cracks appearing in her party, people are quitting etc., and of course thanks to the stupid snap election in which she threw away her majority she's on very thin ice

she came up with a proposal to give to the EU, and various commentators have remarked that it would basically make the UK a vassal state of the EU in which we get no say in what they do but still have to obey 100% of their laws, probably also including freedom of movement which is one of the big red lines as far as the electorate is concerned

I haven't read the proposal so I can't really comment

but yes we look pretty damn fucked, because the government doesn't understand the principle of haggling

or perhaps big business have just applied too much pressure to them to keep frictionless trade intact, I know there are a lot of oligarch types who contribute to the conservative party

there's still talk about it, although the EU would have to agree and that would require accord from all the member states, which wouldn't be guaranteed

see if we crash out without a deal then they don't get any money and everyone suffers economically, so they don't want that to happen
