yeah I'd love to be able to learn flamenco, I was watching some youtube videos of that actually, it's mental

I do actually have a few flamenco-type techniques that I use on bass guitar because the strings are further apart and so you have the room to get your thumb and fingers in between them

I'm not about to start making the effort to master spanish guitar now though lol

heh i'm trying to use those sort of techniques for general rock stuff. it's way harder but i think it'll make me a better player in the end

just stuff like keeping my left hand as still as possible and using all my fingers whenever possible

nah I don't think so, it's just ignorance I think because people think SDA was the dawn of time as far as speedrunning was concerned

but it bothers me because now there's this video out there which thousands of people will watch and it will become the received wisdom, widely believed version of history

meanwhile some youtuber makes a pile of ad revenue off other people's hard work and can't even get it right

The "gossiping scene" that seems to have sprung up around speedrunning is baffling

I get recommended videos with titles like "10 times speedrunners got caught cheating" with millions of views

How do you even begin to care about what random faceless people who make speedrun videos did or didn't do

It's like they're celebrities no one knows

It doesn't seem like there's any "speedrunning community" places left where the majority of people are actually involved in speedrunning other than maybe some Discord channels

Hard for me to comment because I knew next to nothing about speedrunning Metroid and SM in the first place.

He might get me with whatever he's gonna cook up for Metroid Prime though.
