They "failed" to report the guy's criminal history because our military is 100% about marketing. Like, the sniper they made that propaganda movie about just magicked up a couple extra medals and when eventually people noticed the Navy went "Well our boys literally never lie so we never really checked, oopsie! *wink*"
Reminder that they also 100% lied about NFL Player turned army man Pat Tillman's death in Afghanistan because they wanted a hero, until, again, they got called on it and had to admit it was friendly fire and not heroic at all. They also continue to lie about him being in support of the wars there and in Iraq because people will believe it even if his family states otherwise.
Greatest Country in the World though.
