for about three reasons, most dangerous of which is that the party she's hoping to do a deal with are ... at the very least ideologically linked to one of the factions in the old ireland / northern ireland-related terrorist campaigns
I am by no means an expert on this, but peace in northern ireland has been sustained essentially by a fractious power-sharing agreement between the factions that has only worked because the UK government has avoided fucking about with it
so yeah this could be a hat trick of stupid gambles for the conservative party, except this time the worst case scenario is they might actually end up with blood on their hands
I guess there are two reasons why she's doing a deal with the DUP: a) it's the smallest party she can do a deal with and still get a majority, but more tellingly: b) no other minor party wants to be poisoned by associating with the conservatives right now
Got to witness my second house fire today. It's hot as fuck here lately and some house went up in flames by a lake we went swimming to. The winds are super high so it ended up spreading to the neighbors garage
I was driving and saw some smoke start to rise where I was headed, by the time I got there the entire garage (Detached unit) was ablaze, and by the time we left there were two houses and two garages completely burnt down. Was kind of crazy.
