I disagree. Businesses rip people off with impunity. If they ever face any consequence at all, it comes years after they've been ripping people off left and right. They know that people don't have the time or the money to fight back, and our 'leadership' is too busy not giving a shit.

dealing with my insurance company has been a wonderful experience, not even sarcastic. She's been working with me really well and forwarding me every interaction with all the other insurance companies and helping me a lot each step of the way

it was actually a very young girl who stepped out of the car with a smart phone in her hand, go figure

but yeah I went to urgent care and I might need to go back. I've had constant bad headaches since the accident and when I lay down at night I can hear my ears ringing faintly.

One of the jobs I was trying to get saw me through three rounds of interviews and today they offered me the job !!! My pay is going up by about 50%. So happy!

It's a totally new position that one of the directors came up with. I'm basically going to meet with salespeople and find out what kinds of work is stopping them from devoting more time to selling. Then I'm going to figure out how to delegate that work to other people who aren't in sales. The theory is that once sales has more time to sell then they'll bring in more business. He wants to present positive results within 6 months, so there's definitely a lot of pressure.
There will be some challenges in getting sales to turn over all their crap. There's the trust factor, plus I think some of them are going to want to hold onto things because they see some of that work as a break from selling.
Man I really hope I uncover some huge boring tasks that I can dump on people I hate hahaha

after two days of pretty much hearing nothing I decided I needed to get the ball rolling. My insurance company was supposed to get a police report from the police about what happened, and that's what we were waiting on

so instead, I called up the police myself and went down to get the report. I called up my insurance and told them I got it myself, took pictures with my phone and sent it to her. She then forwarded the information to AAA (the lady that hit me's insurance) and was going to wait to hear back from them. Fuck that, I thought to myself.

After a full day of waiting for AAA to respond to the email she sent, I decided to just call them myself. Turns out she didn't even open the email yet or have any of my information on record, so I gave her all my information and asked about the time of repairs and when I can pick up a rental car. She told me she would call the guy who was handling the appraisal tomorrow since his office is closed, and after she calls him he'll get back to me. I told her to give me his name and number.

So I decide to call him immediately after I'm done talking to her, and his office is open for another two hours. I fill him in on the situation, give him my info, and he asks where my car is located (which the previous lady didn't even ask) and talked a lot with him. Finally he says that it'll be looked at tomorrow and to expect a call back tomorrow, but he also said that he'll call the car rental agency to have them set up a rental car with me tomorrow and I'll have it by the end of the day.

Fuck that, I thought to myself. And I called the rental car place myself after talking to him, and gave them my info and his info, and now they're setting me up with a car to get tomorrow morning
