Club 27 Goals

cute, my Best Bro broke up with his gf while he was at my house (over facebook). Tried to cheer him up a little, played some vidya and made pancakes before he went home.

I think we're going to be able to hang out for a few hours tomorrow before he goes back out of town. Not really sure what to do to cheer him up though and have fun. If I had money I'd just take him out somewhere, but sadly I don't at the moment.

and no ark/bios, buttsex won't cheer him up ~~any more than it already has.~~

yeah, they weren't too good though. I had a good idea of mixing in brown sugar and coffee crystals though, just a little for the flavor. I think he'll get over it soon, he was ranting not more than two weeks ago about how bothersome she can be at times. I think he's just sad about it now because he's just thinking of all the nice things. he'll be a man and come to his senses soon enough.

he can do better than her though. could easily get a hot fun girl, I'm kinda surprised he stuck with her for so long, but I think he was just too nice of a guy to really break it off with her.

Oh btw, did I mention I bought new wheels yesterday? I bought a pre-owned certified Hyundai Elantra. It's gold with a beige/black interior and moonroof. It has 21,000 miles on it. I got the whole package for $16,300. What a trip!

Okay, so I started watching avatar due to you all starting to talk about it. A few days ago I had my first completely free day in months, so I watched the last 30 or so episodes in a row. I loved it, but am I the only one who would have vastly preferred that Azula was the final true "big bad"? Because the fire lord was pretty much much the most boring and generic "final boss" ever. It would have been so much of a better ending if she plotted to overthrow the fire lord and became the "big bad" herself (seriously, there's like 1000 reasons that makes more sense than what happened). Anyway, I'll try to wait until Legend of Korra has ran for a full season before I start to watch it, but I'm looking forward too it a lot,

cpadolf yeah i think a lot of people have said the same thing, but personally i'm glad it ended how it did

i mean the whole time they're talking about how aang is going to have to fight the firelord so for them to cop out of that somehow it would have been kind of lame. like even if he did fight azula, she's really not all that threatening because we know her (and also because she's a kid). but i do agree there are some small pacing problems here and there, especially in the third season.

one thing i really love about avatar is how the kids in the show aren't portrayed as somehow being way more powerful than adults for no reason other than they're the main characters (ok, maybe sokka ...)

think keeping the firelord out of the limelight was a good idea too. it's like voldemort in harry potter - you can't be afraid of something unless it's unknown.

I dunno, I definitely think Azula would have made a better "big bad", but of course they would have had to change a few things in the build up of the series to have it make dramaturgical sense (or whatever it's called in English), but I was severely disappointed at the firelod being a generic final bad guy, because he was the most standard final bad guy I've ever seen in a series. Like, his entire motive was "I'm so evil and out of control for no particular reason", while Azula was a true badass chess-master. Still, I look forward to watching legend of Korra a lot, it seems to be a great show. A few years ago I would have been to "proud" to watch a kids show like that, but lately I've come to realize that doesn't make much sense, and a "kidz" show can be really good anyway". And being too "proud" too watch something like that is fucking retarded anyway.

Seriously though, Azula was the one that introduced Lightning, blue fire, she was the one that "almost killed the avatar", the one that's the smartest and most well planned fire nation soldier, while the fire lord is a generic super powerful guy that has no special incentive or reason to become the most powerful bender in the world.

I'm super drunk, but that's what I've come up with during all the time of my best idea's anyway, so fuck all the dissenters.

i dunno, they go into ozai's past a lot in the sozin's comet arc, don't they? i don't think they actually need to show him on screen to get the point across that he's a bad dude. just listening to zuko and his mother talk about him is plenty. i wasn't unsatisfied with his fight with aang, either (and i thought i would be).

and yeah, avatar definitely isn't a "kids' show" in most senses of the phrase. it's got some of the best writing i've seen in anything pretty much, really cool mythology, great voice acting (angsty lispy zuko ftw), and actual plot development in practically ever episode, which is more than you can say for most shows. i just wish i'd watched it sooner.

i'm enjoying legend of korra a lot so far, but things are still just getting started so it's hard to tell where it's going. but that's not a bad thing and i think anyone who liked the first series will like korra too.

Well I'm probably really biased by I would have greatly preferred Azula as the final "boss" of the series. Anyway, I from the start I really disliked Zuko due to his super serious voice acting), but from the beach episode and forward I loved him, because god damn it's hilarious when he deadpans things like saying "I'm never happy" and things like that".
