When any candidate wins the nomination then it has everything to do with what we do, or don't do. It's not something that we just sit back and watch some uncontrollable, unseen forces shape for us. The candidates win the nomination because of the people, as in us.
Then we end up getting a candidate that isn't supported by the majority. Instead, we get a candidate that's supported by the majority who don't suffer from apathy.
We don't really get to choose the candidate anyway. Just because they get more of the popular vote doesn't mean they'll win, because of dumb shenanigans.
like even if trump won, i wouldn't care. it's not like he (or sanders, for that matter) would actually be able to do any of the things they're talking about
i'm starting to think clinton might be the best option just for compromise's sake
Yeah none the candidates that have ideas which are considered to be bold or even radical ever get to do everything they wanted to do, but they often manage to do some things that are along the same lines of intent. Trump doesn't even have any intention of doing most of the shit he says he will do, he just wants to win. Sanders would be stymied and stonewalled at every turn but he might be able to get us on the right path, even if it's a million miles long. I don't believe Clinton would do much of anything. Everything would continue the way it is - heading downward. Hell, I'd rather see Trump win vs. Clinton. At least with Trump it wouldn't be business as usual. We need major change now.
There's one thing that Trump and Sanders have in common: they're both upset about the state of things and want to change things. To me, Clinton just doesn't seem to be concerned.
Well you can't vote for Sanders if he doesn't get the nomination, and he won't get the nomination if people don't show support at caucus. I couldn't give two shits about the democratic party, but I have to register in the party if I want to participate. I'll take the lesser of evils vs. nothing.
So what I'm getting from this is that it doesn't matter who gets elected because if it's some pro-establishment candidate it'll be business as usual and if it's an anti-establishment candidate, most of their ideas are either gonna get shut down or reduced to mangled compromises in Congress. Is that the gist of it?
