i remember playing oregon trail on old macs when i was really young, and as far as pc games go it was some zoo building game (i don't think it was zoo tycoon) and the secret island of dr. quandary

It was an old mac.  It wasn't my game, my friend had it.  I don't know what was more infuriating, the crappy game or his dad having a panic attack that kids were touching his computer.

Oh I used to love breakout in the arcade.  There have been so many variations and ports of that game - probably more than tetris even.
