You know, a bunch of soccermoms in a neighborhood meeting up after bringing their kids to school blaming all their problems on video games. It doesn't seem too far fetched to me. haven't seen the twitter, though.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
It's a joke twitter yall. Come on now.

yeah i can't imagine it's not
probably, I only glanced at it
Not impossible
just highly unlikely
Well holy shit. They measured gravity waves.

Watching the NSF announcement about their LIGO findings and they got what is apparently a solid reading on the gravity distortions from two black holes colliding. This proves the theory of relativity once and for all and will eventually provide a new spectrum to explore space with.

Kind of feels like a big deal.
Yeah I saw that, and yeah, pretty amazing. it's been a good few years for experimental physics what with that and the higgs boson
Definitely.  Should open up many new areas of study.  We'll probably see gravitational astronomy take it's place next to radio astronomy, for starters.
also slightly mindboggling how Einstein just lives on, it's like he's just sitting there saying "aha! You have finally proved my theory, took you long enough"

Here's a fun political typology quiz from the pew research center.  Answer the questions and share the results.

I was the same as you ark although I'm not American so my vote kinda doesn't count
Steadfast Conservate (12%). None of my answers made sense because choices were either too extreme, both valid depending on circumstances and sometimes I applied them to germany, sometimes to america.
Some of them were hard for me to answer too.  I think that's why they highlight the word 'closest' when they say to select the answer that is closest to your views.  Some of them I chose simply because I disagreed with them less than the other choice.
Here's another one that tells americans which presidential candidate aligns most with their views: http://www.isidewith.com/

What's strange is that my results were tied at 80% between Sanders and Clinton, yet it told me that Clinton was my match.  I don't want to vote for Clinton!  The BS alarm is high with this one.
I was also a little surprised with my results for the first one, since my answers on economic issues were the opposite of what most liberals would say.  They aligned with social issues, though.  I guess I thought my economic stance would take me out of the liberal category altogether for some reason.
My answer to most of those questions would be "It depends."
But yeah, I general agree with saying that these answers are way too polarized.
I got the exact same thing as Opium, lol.
At least the second poll lets you expand the choices
